Definitely in :- (gk) Hennessey, speroni , (def) dann, Riedewald, PVA , Delaney schlupp, Kelly (mid) Townsend, puncheon , loftus-cheek , Luka (attackers) Benteke, Zaha De Boer undecided :- Tomkins, Cabaye, mcarthur, lapado, Anderson Who's looks like their not wanted:- Chungy, Williams, Sako, Kai Kai, Ward What your early impressions of how frank will assess the squad. I hope he understands the vulnerability of the system he wants to employ with this squad to counter attacks, and coaches them accordingly. I hope he coaches a plan of attack that consists of more than passing the ball to Zaha. With those issues dealt with, I think we'll be OK for a lower mid table finish at least. Personally I simply cannot see how Delaney at this stage of his career can be a positive influence in such a system at PL level, indeed even if we played a back four. I think an opposition manager would be 'Licking his lips' if he saw Delaney in a starting 11.

I only placed him in there because he's a left foot cb option, ideally love Sakho or even martins indi but because he played both in Hong Kong. I presumed he maybe in his plans even if it's as last resort.

My not so early impression is that it's weaker than the one that finished last season, I hope Connor Wickham starts to re-pay his transfer fee and wages, and that there's only two weeks before we're playing for points.

Definitely need minimum 3 players. I'm hoping at least one before we play Huddersfield. He's tried the likes of Anderson, lokilo and Kirby but while I'd like to see these involved. We can't afford to rely on the youth.

I'm excited as I always am, but as many have commented I do worry that at the moment it wouldn't take many injuries/suspensions to be relying on youth players and that's an expensive risk. In terms of 14 players I'm fairly confident we can compete for mid-table, but we are about £50-100m away from the top 8 in my opinion.

Slightly concerned about our new style of playing it out from the back. From the pre-season action I have seen our passing is not quite crisp enough and we have no one centrally who has the composure to turn and create or feed anything forward (is Cabaye staying?) ... Punch just dawdles too much for me and is forever passing it backwards. Need Wickham back ASAP as a back up / option for CB and I really hope we can still do a late deal with the bindippers for Sakho. Otherwise excited as usual for the new season.

We can't afford to rely on the youth. FDB rightly has had a look at them in match conditions hence their inclusion in the squads. Alas I feel that at the moment the PL is a step too far but of course they have the time to develop and could well be,in time,very useful to us.

I don't expect him to rely on the youth. It I do expect and am excited that maybe wan bissaka, lokilo and Kirby will maybe spend the season trying to break through. Watched the interview with Lokilo after the Metz game and the lad looked made up at the thought of getting more game time. Felt real happy for him.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |
