I read a click bait article earlier saying Newcastle might be readying a bid for Townsend.

I'd be sorry to see him go if we did accept. But on the other hand I'd imagine he'd command £20-25m? (No clue how much the offer would be purely speculative on my part!)

Would anyone want to take the cash?

Depends...

What other options will we have up front? If we're getting a proper #10, then there's no room for both Wilf and Andros in the starting XI if FdB plays the 4-3-3 he's reported to prefer.

Townsend would be great cover to Zaha, but if he can bring in 20+ million, then send him on his way and make room for new signing and/or players coming up through the system (KaiKai). Use that money to bring in a #10 to play up with Big Chris.

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

According to the press they've been readying a bid ever since we bought him.

He's not as good as Bolasie (no time for anyone who says differently) but we still need him. As long as he keeps up the work rate it'd be tough to replace him, would be needless to sell him.

Reminds me of Sid James pursuit of Barbara Windsor. He kept on and on until she said yes

He was class under Big Sam. Fought back and won the ball on the break when we were left wide open at the back twice in 2 mins against some team( at home, can someone help me here?)towards the end of the season. Watching it live was something to behold. I just can't remember who it was against. 😬

Not saying he's better than bolasie but would say bolasie was injured for what seemed like the whole of last season. We'd have been a bit f***ed if we only had him and he was out injured

I'm not sure Bolasie is any more or any less injury prone than Townsend. The injury could have happened to either of them or any player, we're just lucky it happened to Bolasie after we'd sold him.

Before we selling off the whole squad, would be nice to add to it, considering we released about 6 players. The 2 loans have left in Sakho and remy. Let's strengthen, before depleting it further.
