Seem to have got a flying start in the transfer window. Defoe, Begovic and now Nathan Ake. Would have welcomed any of those three.

Plucky little Bournemouth, the FFP bandits.

Bournemouth might have felt that in order to reach the PL on gates of @ 11,000 they simply HAD to breach the rules and were willing to take the fine.

Oh well, that's alright then; just as long as they didn't cheat

I don't know the thinking of Bournemouth.Just putting it forward as a possibility. I could be well off the mark.
I am NOT accusing them of anything.

So long as they pay their fines for breaching FFP rules, I don't have too much of a problem with them breaking them. Both in the the Championship and PL.

Brighton fans are always banging on about teams cheating but seem to forget that year one of FFP it was only met by a handful of teams in the Championship (including Palace) and blown out of the water by many teams (including Brighton).

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Well I do.

I think that all clubs that flaunt the FFP rules should have to refer all future incoming transfers to the governing body who would refuse to register the player unless the club could prove that they were keeping within the FFP guidelines

I should point out there income stream s now greater than ours.
You only need to look at he premier prize money to realise this.
We got £115 m. They got £ 124M.
We've got 15000 more seats than them x £500 = £7.5M.
We had the same sponsor.
It is now spread over a 3 year window, bug they will have got a big promotion prize.
I'll bet they are within the rules with their astute transfers and pay scales.

I have a lot of respect for them and for Eddie Howe in particular. Saw them play in their last season in the Championship and when I looked a season later in the PL still 7 out of 11 of those players where playing, keeping their footballing style. That impressed me. Apart from the fact that income from gates is not that big of a deal anymore. Lets face it: us fans are dressing up material for the tv shows. If I am not mistaken our matchday income last season was only less then 10 percent of total and by now probably barely more then whatever most awful name on the shirt.

I remember just after Howe came back to manage in 2012-13, Bournemouth beating Dag & Red 4-0 in the FA Cup and Dwight Gayle was playing for the 'Daggers'.There are still players at the club from those days eg Francis,Daniels,Cook, Arter, Fraser.
