So the news is out and we have FdB in charge, how are you all feeling now? For me, this is a very exciting appointment and proves we are looking forward. I am hoping he has the skill to change our style of play and if he has we have a lot to look forward to. So from me, it's good luck and looking forward to a very interesting and exciting season.

Very exciting yes. Just hope he pin points the right players to replace. For all we know he may not want a target man and benteke may be put on sale. Anything can happen. I just hope we improve on puncheon and ward but whilst keeping them. We need a stronger squad. And I hope whoever we bring in has a long shot on him or a good free kick. I just wonder how much money he has been told he has. I always thought we had 30 mil ish and hence we haven't yet bought sakho. But after fdb comments about spending money today. Something tells me he has a war chest that the new owners are trusting him with.

A new era? Ok. Relegation place not visited? That would be a new era. What do think will happen? We are Palace, we will struggle to stay in this league for a few more years yet. If he stays longer than that, maybe we can build. But I can't see him staying as an 'also ran'. And he's not even done much to sing about. As stated elsewhere, in a one team league, life is easy. The prem ain't that. I hope he stays. Purely for the stability, but if he is sh*te, he needs to resign before Christmas.

We need to develop this season, keep the continuity from Sam. The fitness, the discipline, and hopefully FDB can push the team on out of possession and make us more comfortable on the ball. I'm very hopeful, but also believe a comfortable 10th would be an excellent season for us.

Historically Ajax were the biggest club but hadn't won for many years before he took over. You must have read that though, surely? As for the new era - clearly it is. As it is whenever a new manager starts. Pulis and SA are proven managers - outside of them who we gonna get? They are all gambles. Pardew has taken teams down, so has Dyche and Silva. We have more than a fighting chance - we have Sammy Lee too. Keeping him was a good pragmatic decision I'm excited

The Eredivisie might not be the Premier League but it also isn't the Scottish Premier League. It was only a one-horse race for Ajax when de Boer was there.

Keeping him was a good pragmatic decision I'm excited He is going to get Palace playing the Ajax way, with fast fuid attatcking play, winning the ball back aggressively as far up the pitch as possible with a wellorganised defense which can pass rather than long ball boot its way out of defense. We really do need a Sakho or near equivalent as part of this system, which we havnt got yet. Rumours tyat we might go for Veltman who might be able to help us with this system. It seems to me that it actually is changing the DNA of the club, snd as well all know, Pardew tried and failed to do this. However, with the 'January players' like Schlupp, van Aarnholt, and Milivoseviv, we are much better equipped as a squad to play like this. Personnally I very much liked how the team played under Pulis, and will miss that style of play. Personally I am excited and apprehensive in equal measures.

One thing I found confusing: in the press conference FdB elaborates on his desire to play expansive and attractive football, as that is what he believes the fans wish to see. Then after this Steve parish said one of the most appealing things about FdB was his view that winning games was more important than the style of the win. I also thought the BBC placed FdB's quotes about spending money out of context. I understood his comments to indicate he wasn't going to spend loads of money, yet

Its clear that Parish actually does want a change of playing style at Palace

His Ajax sides were very much of that ilk - play your game when you can but if you have to win ugly then win ugly. I really am quite excited by the possibilities ahead of us.

Frank will need to be here for years to achieve it, or find a like for like replacement if Frank leaves, and that's only if he's succeeded. If there isn't too much disruption to away tactics then some tweaks at home may be quite rewarding. Change it too much though and I'm not confident. We don't have 20 great players. We have 15 max, and a good few of those aren't comfortable being closed down with the ball. I am hopeful but not yet dancing round the house about it. It's similar to signing a European player who's never played in the prem. For all the right intentions there is the possibility of a Martinez result at Everton. Only like Parish said, they don't suddenly get relegated in one season. I'm all for giving it a go, but like everyone in football knows, it takes 3 windows to get anywhere near to where you want your squad to be, and to get there you need results to be good or okay depending on club. Maybe we both need each other. I'm not sure and I doubt anyone knows the balance of this professional relationship yet. This'll be interesting. A bit more interesting than Pulis and Sam, although I loved the matches under both of them. We were like a coiled spring, ready to take the 3 points in a passage of play.
