Bloody Tories. Has Theresa May been there yet - too busy fox-hunting I expect.

We have now sunk to a depth at which the restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men. [Orwell]

With a wave of his hand, Jeremy Corbyn will fix it and turn water into wine while he is at it.

Damn fools. How is it any better to use this as a way to score points than Grenfell Tower? Grow up FFS.

Another terrible event.

I'd make a glib remark about religion but to be fair it's simply too horrendous.

Well some of the dross I have seen posted on the Grenfell thread deserved satire quite frankly.
And it is surprising to see Pefwin getting all indignant about it since he is the man who is happy to see people die young to save the NHS some money.

I really don't think I need a morality lecture or have my intellect questioned by people like that.

Sadly the death toll is increasing:

"A catastrophic forest fire in Portugal has claimed at least 58 lives, officials say.

Most died while trying to flee the Pedrógão Grande area, 50 km (30 miles) south-east of Coimbra, in their cars, according to the government.

Several firefighters are among the 59 people injured."

I was staying near Bordeaux last year and they were experiencing prolonged temperatures like they couldn't remember.
I suspect that these events will become more common on the continent sadly.

It's only anecdotal of course but I do feel the weather was more stable in my youth. I'm 47 but even only thirty years ago it seemed different to now.

Wonder how much man made climate change has to do with this.
