Huddersfield just agreed a £10m fee for him from Manchester City, in todays market that's a pretty good deal for someone of his quality. The majority of our midfielders will be over 30 next season, I think only Milivojevic with still be in his mid 20's, so I think it's time we refreshed that area of the pitch with some younger players with a bit more energy who are perhaps less injury prone than Cabaye and McArthur.

I think he'll be a good signing. Impressed the few times I saw him play last season, and Man City have a buy back clause I think, do must rate him. Agree that we need a centre mid creative player, preferably in their twenties. Who is there though that would realistically come to Palace?

Parish recently said we have a few academy guys they want to bring through and don't want to block there progression with new signings. I think he named three midfielders.

He's not saying they'll make it but I think they want to give them the best opportunity as possible to break through.

I took this as a sign not to expect us to sign any midfielders in this window.

Was a really interesting interview I think it's still on HOL radio.

Agreed, £10m an absolute bargain for such quality. Just ask Tony Popovic (his former manager) or Mile Jedinak (national teammate). Dead ball specialist, doesn't score many from general play but has superb creativity from centre midfield.

Watched him live plenty of times for Melbourne City. He was always going to "make" it (always wished it would be for us) but now becomes the most expensive Australian transfer ever.

That said, the City Group own Melbourne City anyway, so they never really paid for him I'd suggest. Nice profit for them considering he was never going to play in Manchester.

Firstly it belongs in football talk as it has nothing to do with transfers in or out of Crystal Palace FC and secondly, going by your assumption it would mean every time another club, say mid-table downward, sign a midfielder we should hear about here.
Read it slowly smartarse and I'm sure you will get my drift.

A bit touchy aren't we?
I'll put it down to you being a new poster and not aware of my warped sense of humor. No need for the personal attack.
No offence meant. It was tongue in cheek

Actually if you look at the opening post it is talking about what he thinks we might do as our midfield is aging. He uses Aaron Mooy as a lead in. Transfer is full of such kind of speculation. If he just talked about the Mooy transfer I could agree with you.

Mad4palace has been a poster on this site for nearly 10 years
and is familiar with which forum to place his posts. In my time as a moderator on this site I would have left this post where he put it.

Going back to Mooy, whenever I have seen him play he has been impressive. What I noticed, amonst other things is that whilst he is right-footed he is prepared to shoot with his left-foot from outside the box and not many players will attempt this on their weaker foot.

Huddersfield have only agreed a fee for him, so he remains a Man City player, had he signed then I would not have posted.

Farawayeagle gets my main point. The fees for most players are ridiculous, for instance Fulham just turned down £20 million for Tom Cairney, Mooy is one player that seems to be going for a reasonable price.
