Do any HOLers live in or near West Kingsdown?

Any views or information for someone considering moving there?

Thanks.

Travellers could be anywhere, that's why they call them travellers.

I know the area very well having grown up over the hill in Kemsing. It depends on your circumstances with children / schooling etc. The transport links are poor (no station) and bus service irregular, so you could spend an awful lot of time ferrying your kids about. A friend of mine lives there and their son goes to secondary school in Maidstone. But others travel to Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Dartford and Wilmington.
However if you have no kids it is a lovely part of the world, not far from anywhere really. Good road links via M20 / M25. Some lovely villages not far away Eynsford, Shoreham, Farningham, Meopham, Wrotham etc.
Obviously Brands Hatch is close by so the traffic can get busy on race days.
If you like golf you have the London Club nearby (pricey), or Woodlands - a course I learned to play golf on set in the hills between West Kingsdown and Kemsing.
Hope my ramblings have been of assistance.

Edit - As for the travellers comment, yes there are a few settlements dotted about in the downs, and as with anywhere there are nice parts and not so nice parts - the same that can be said for Swanley, which is the nearest biggest town with a supermarket.

Never mind the travellers, West Kingsdown's favourite neighbour Kenny Noye will be out soon...

"He served 14 years over the 1983 Brink’s-MAT gold bullion raid at Heathrow and was released in 1994"

Hmmm...something doesn't quite add up there, methinks.

Ridiculous. He deliberately snuffed out a young life and has only been in jail for 17 years. Hopefully, he won't last too long on the outside.

Unfortunately I think he will. He has a loyal group of friends (let's say).

Very close to Brands Hatch so noisy when racing is on. That's all I remember about the area.
