In my opinion yep... but then I've got the vegan agenda to push. Trump has business interests to maintain. Why the f*** would he care about the environment if it will affect his profits?
Man is the most insane species. He worships an invisible God and destroys a visible Nature. Unaware that this Nature he’s destroying is this God he’s worshipping. Hubert Reeves |

It's all about votes, not profits. Here's another example: Corbyn was quick to criticise May for (basically) not stopping Trump from being so silly. The same Corbyn who has always 'fought' with his militant chums to keep British coal mines open, against all economic or environmental logic. Funny old World, eh? Edited by YT (03 Jun 2017 11.36am)

Of course it's real, what do you think has been happening since the last ice age? However, there's also a lot of bunkum spoken about it and governments seem to like using it as a way to spank the electorate and ramp up taxes. I guess nothing will change until we get to the next ice age.

The question should be "is man made global warming real". In any event, anything that politicians use as an excuse to increase taxation has to be viewed with a certain degree of suspicion.

Global climate change is real. It's been happening for ooh about four and a half billion years now. Man-made global warming is bollocks which just happens to serve the wants of the Establishment. Coincidence? Hmmm. @sa_eagle - we are currently *in* the Quaternary ice age and have been for 2.1 million years. The present period is an interglacial during which the ice retreats to higher latitudes and altitudes but there is still ice at the poles. Usually (over millions of years), there is not.

Governments will not impact on global warming, matters little about Trump etc. It's science and big business that will solve this problem.

I think as with most things you have to go with the totality of the science consenuous. That doesn't mean that you don't have skepticism because that's a valuable tool from within science. I would expect that there will be groups of scientists working on alternative reasons in an effort to prove the mainstream theory wrong. That is healthy and useful and apart of the necessary debate that actually allows us to be confident at what the majority say. You worry sometimes that research money only backs the mainstream viewpoint and that can create suspicion that alternatives aren't being explored but I think in this case the money rich industries affected have already come to the conclusion that this is indisputable. The question I think is more, how bad is it and how bad with it be. For me what's more important is how climate change is effectively tackled. I have a lot of suspicion on that front. Science should never be closed to evidence on any subject matter and this topic is no different. However at the moment I'd say that yes, global warming is definitely happening.
