I've got one of those Amazon Echo thingies, linked to my phone with Spotify. The other day I was walking to the station trying to link my headphones, also with Spotify. My daughter, home alone absolutely crapped herself when the house suddenly started blasting out The Killers without warning, while I'm 1/2 a mile away cursing the rubbish headphones that I had.
She wasn't happy!!

I'm also in the market for (another) one. I already have Sony SRS-5X and you might find that or an SRS-55X in a sale. They have a quality sound which plays the entire audio spectrum.

Units with a base price of c£50 all sound a bit thin by comparison.

I've got the SRS-X33, BE. It might be a bit out of your price range but it's got a fantastic sound, solid bass and clear treble. You can waste money on cheap sh*te (like I did) but this fella is the business.

Decent sound for £30 and battery life is amazing.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.
