I think perhaps he got it for being the most important player over the last 2 seasons. Luka's stats over the last 8 games won't look amazing on paper but he's been pretty key for us.

Those stats are clearly for an attacker rather than a defensive minded player like Kante so will make him look unworthy of the PFA Player of year. You then look at his defensive stats: Interceptions: 72 (7th) And you begin to see how important he is. Not only are they high, they're very high for a defensive player playing in a team that dominates possession in the majority of its games.

Refreshing that a player has won it for something other than scoring goals. Kante is fantastic and has pretty much stayed at the top of the league for 2 seasons now. No coincidence, in my opinion, that Chelsea and Leicester have basically swapped places after he's moved.

he deserves the prize. Not only did teams thrive when he played, they often looked like they could walk it.

Easily one, if not the best, players I've seen play in that position.

1 Tackle vs. Palace at t'Bridge. Seeing as he's "like having 2 players on the pitch" that's actually only 0.5 Tackles vs Palace.

Actually, that game shows just how well Allerdyce has us playing, because we beat a Chelsea side that wasn't having a 'bad day' or 'poor' (as with maybe Arsenal).

He is a phenomenal player and well worth the award. And personally I love all the Kante related gags his energetic performances throw out; When Kante lost his virginity, he won it straight back 70% of the world is covered by water, the other 30% by N'Golo Kante. Hours of fun.
