Yep , early days but for me Big Sam is up there with the best Palace bosses of the past 40 odd years
Yes Pulis is in there , because yes Pulis was great for us and would have been going forward
Sam is a tactical no nonsense genius ,
I hope we have him for many years

I was really anti Allardyce, I didn't want him and thought he was wrong for us.

I was wrong and I've stopped calling him Fat Sam, he's most definitely Big Sam and has my respect now.

He's a class above Pardew or Pulis!

Cynic or realist? It's a fine line!

Malcolm Allison was larger than life & great fun, but his league record was poor. 2 relegations and couldn't get us out of the old 3rd division. Bert Head has more right to be in that list than Allison.

Agree about the others though.

Dam right Bert Head was a manager, I know there is a lot love Allison, but to me he has more in common with Pardew.

Well done fella, there are quite a few more who should be as honest as you and give genuine respect to Big Sam now.

Allison used to bang the birds Pardew only dreamed about.

We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

Coppell is still the best post-WWII Palace manager. Big Sam is showing great promise based on the turn-around he has led but would have to manage a few more years here and build on what has happened, making us a top of the table premier league side to surpass Sir Steve's status.

All fairness to Pulis, he and Allardyce are two of the longest serving and most tactically astute managers you will find in the game.

They achieve year in, year out, with much smaller clubs and much less spending than say the so called 'best managers' - and have never really been given the chance to 'do their thing at the top level' - despite having incredible records.

Its similar to what impressed me about Freedman at Palace, he achieved well above expectations with next to nothing in resources (and I think if he'd stayed we'd have won the Championship).

For all the praise that Eddie Howe gets, its important to remember that these two English managers have been there and done that and continue to achieve impressive finishes with 'relegation fodder'.

Pochettino is also exceptionally talented.
