According to skysports the sun are saying we're looking to sign Glen Johnson on a free this summer. Guess that'll be compition for Ward. Although personally I think Ward is fine at this level and doesn't get enough credit for the shifts he puts in. I would say we have no real cover for him as both Kelly and Tomkins are CB. Good free signing I'd say.

It will not do any harm to bring in quality competition for Joel but he is now rapidly getting back to his best form following the slump that seemed to affect all of our defenders prior to returning to the style that suits us best.

Good enough right back. On a free, I'd take him Edit: He's better than Ward I mean. But still, he should only come as a back-up and another right back should come in as starter. Edited by mattteo (11 Apr 2017 9.06pm)

Good free signing I'd say. Have to disagree about Ward. I think he is the weakest member of the 11 and has the place by virtue of the fact there is no competition. He has been found out far too much and needs replacing.

replacing yes, but not selling, great squad player, him on the bench filling in when needed is good quality back up.

Good free signing I'd say. I wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't bollox. He's the right player at the wrong age, I'd be surprised if Sam had his eye on him. Free is good though and might be a stop gap for a season so we have more dosh for 2 Centre Backs. Parrot

Each to their own but I'd say it's a little harsh to say he needs replacing even if he is the weakest link. Which is also a bit of a harsh statement. Even if true. I mean has Ward really let Palace down that much? Either way we need another quality RB in the squad, although I never knew GJ was 32. Let's hope he's doing his Yoga...
