I've been saying since we got him that he's a centre half. Looked top drawer tonight. Quick, solid and sound with his positioning. Great performance from a much criticised player who has been forced to play left back on too many occasions.

Yeah I'm feeling more relaxed with him and all the CB's with Sakho next to any of them.

I've given him a lot of s*** on here lately, but he was great tonight! It'll be interesting to see how well he does given a run of games.

Going to be a huge test vs Liverpool with no Sakho.

The only thing he ever did wrong was get forced to play left-back by that mickey-mouse muppet for so long. Completely wrecked his confidence and passion and made him a shadow of his former self. Had looked decent before that and looks decent again now. Excellent performance tonight up against supposedly some of the top players in the game, our defenders made Sanchez look like Bumfluff.

Shocking treatment by Pardew. Mind you he's not the only player he had no concern for, and then he says he was too loyal to some players and it got him the sack. Well those players are still playing and making him look an absolute blagging fool. You couldn't make hi sh1t up. Well he does I suppose.

I too had my doubts but he was fantastic tonight. I think a lot is down to Sakho who has galvanised the whole back four. Great night still buzzing.

Sakho is the key - whoever plays alongside him will do well because he is so bloody good and he is a real leader.

Said it from day one, he's a centre half, who can at a pinch fill in at right back.
