Is this where the virtue signalers fight back by highlighting the virtue of their signaling?

Is this where the virtue signalers fight back by highlighting the virtue of their signaling? They don't get what 'virtue signalling' is. Let me explain. Saying you care about a bunch of stuff, yet not backing those words up with action equals virtue signalling. For example, you may say are against Brexit because you think Brexit was caused by little racist Englanders looking to reduce immigration yet, you yourself, opt to live in one of the most white populated places in the country, that would equal virtue signalling because you are appearing to be hypocritical. You say one thing yet live your life in another way. Then you go 'Matthew, you have it all wrong...' before humiliating yourself by talking more bollocks and then getting angry because you are challenged. And then the cycle begins again.

Is this something that people do when the argument is turning to the left?

It's what people with low self esteem do to make themselves feel superior over others, or is used by guilt racked middle class types whom agonise over the 'privilege' they enjoy and use virtue signalling as a hollow way to justify themselves, please see my illustration of this in a previous post.

Happy to oblige. I just stopped arguing with him in the end. He never responds to any of my Facebook statuses so I didn't know he even saw them. But I had a pop at Gary Lineker, Lily Allen and Katy Perry and you'd think I'd buggered his dad or something.
