Striker will not dictate Crystal Palace future, says Allardyce Christian Benteke "will not dictate" his future at Crystal Palace, according to manager Sam Allardyce, after reports the striker is disillusioned at the club. The 26-year-old has scored 14 goals for the club since signing for £27m from Liverpool last summer, but only one in the league during the past 11 games. "He has a five-year deal so we'll tell him what he'll do," said Allardyce.

An upturn in the teams form should put a smile back on his face. Hopefully just a storm in a tee-cup. I recon / hope he's up for it against West Brom. Think our lads can cause them problems. COYP

Hope that benteke ( who hasnt said anything about this )will still try and do some work on sat. Im still concerned about the fracas with townsend after the game. This sort of thing is only good veiwing for the opposition Afterall you can lead a striker to the penalty area but you cant make him score. COYP

Benteke is part of the problem at CPFC this season. Yes I know he has scored a few goals but for £28million i would expect a player who is more focussed, prepared to sweat and has a bit of fire in his belly. I would sell him asap if we can get £25mill or anywhere near. He's not Palace.

It's what you expect perhaps even want to see from a striker wanting to get goals. Think of strikers like Clinton Morrison, now there's a player who always threw a strop when not put through on goal.

That's true he doesn't feel as if he is a player that we will think is part of the palace DNA but who else have we got with sicknote out for the rest of the season. Let's hope he scored 20 ish goals this season and people call him lazy and a goal hanger just like they did about Lineker and Greaves. We would settle for that wouldn't we?
Been to Anfield twice seen 14 goals and my team haven't scored any |

I liked FS's response to the question in the press conference that CB has signed a contract and that it's CPFC that decides what happens. I really like FS's honesty in his press conferences, never shirks a question. As for Beneteke, I think he's put a lot more in over the last couple of games, but has lacked a goal. I think he's still better than we've had in the PL so far and will score more crucial goals. If he finishes with 15+ goals then it'll have been a decent return on the scraps he has often had to work off. If we stay up and he stays, I think there'll be a lot more focus on getting the right service and support to him next season.

Morrison was the classic moaner at other Palace players but then play would carry on & he would go back to playing as normal. I always feel moaning at other players (as long as it a very short time scale) gets it out of their system rather than bottling it inside. Whilst the other players are probably thinking 'here he goes again'. Edited by PALACE FOR EVER (03 Mar 2017 10.22pm)
