How on earth was that a booking for Jimmy Mac? From the Holmesdale, it looked like his legs were taken from under him and when ref Madley blew, we thought it had to be a pen. But no. Madley has obviously been studying the techniques of Master-ref Clattenfunk.
Seriously: anyone watching on stream who can enlighten us as to why Mac was booked? Anyone got a replay yet?
BS was baffled by the booking too, he said on SS. He also thought Wilf should have had a pen but that didn't look nailed on and this ref was never going to give it. Bit of a surprise in fact that he didn't book Wilf for diving as that's what Cluttenfick would have done. Maybe, having booked Mac, he thought that was going too far.

I had the benefit of seeing both incidents from a variety of different camera angles.
The defender connected with his toecap, I wouldn't like to say if the contact caused him to go down it looked about 50:50 to me.
But there was contact and the defender didn't play the ball first or anything.
Five minutes later he didn't book Zaha for what was a dive.
Pretty crap ref.

Commentators on the streaming I was watching said it was penalty, as well as Zaha's in the first minutes.
They said probably not Zaha's second.
I kind of agree with this too, with Zaha's first being the most blatant in my opinion.

Looks like refs have decided not to give Wilf pens. If it's too blatant, they have to book him for diving instead.

I wish I could say that was the worst ref performance I had seen this season but sadly it was merely typical. Another disgusting display by yet another prem ref.

As pointex out in posts passim, removing Clattenburg merely creates a vacancy for some other t*** with selective blindness and a vivid sense of fantasy.

The whole situation is a disgrace.

I understood why Wilf's wasn't given, he was at full stretch and you could argue it was a coming together and Wilf had already lost possession.

Jimmy Mac's looked pretty clear to me though.

It was the lino who said JM had dived. I am getting fed up with all the decisions going against us (not just the Big ones)is there a vendetta against BS?

The ref had a shocker, they must be grooming someone to take Clattenburg's place,he'll be awarded ref of the year next season.

Saw the JM incident numerous times and it was a penalty as was the push on Zaha. The other Zaha incident was as someone has already said, a coming together and not a foul. The officials also called Benteke wrongly offside. Poor officiating generally.
