Nice to see Paul Hinshelwood getting some well deserved recognition after all these years. Never forget "that" goal against Liverpool in the cup replay.

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

I saw the real Doris play many times, but now it's a sadly defunct name, gone the way of Mable, Edna, and Joan.

So did I !
Heard him also referred to as "plank".

Though it was a 'Wind-up' when I heard he had been picked for England U21 and that was before Kenny Sansom was capped at this level !
Obviously a huge administrative error - contacted the wrong CPFC full-back !!!!

Was one of my favorite players, not because of his sublime skills but him and Vince Hilaire used to give me and my mates comp tickets at the back of the Mainstand before games. Back then it was a proper football club and the players would get a certian amount of comp tickets for friends and family. When they got to the ground we used to ask if they had any spares and PH and VH always used to go into the ground and pop back out with tickets.
Whewn we were in the Championship last a player i knew could get usvtickets for the players lounge upstairs in the main stand, the lounge them and their wives actually use but not tickets for entry into the ground we had to buy them. He was given 2 tickets himself and had to buy any others he wanted.

Nicky Chatterton playing, and his dad Len driving that VW Beetle roller round the pitch at half time - happy days (that was about all the 'entertainment' we went in for - a car with rollers in the place of wheels)

And the days when players used to drink together in Croydon after games, in 'Snifters' and 'Kembers', also 'Scarletts' ! There appears to have been much more connection between supporters and players. In those days, players used to get off the team bus and sign autographs - these days all they appear to do is to walk off with those darned headsets ignoring everybody. Maybe this just happens in the PL.
