I am starting to feel that too much work is being to put in to keep a clean sheet and when we concede. We seem out of ideas. I personally think we won't keep a clean sheet against boro. They are one of the lowest scorers in the league. We need a change of pshylosy , i want to see Palace attack boro from the off. We can win a game 2-1,3-2 if the players believe. Come on you Palace.

Thoughts on our obsession to get a clean sheets

Andy Johnson Magic, He wears a Magic Hat
When he Sees the match ball, he says he having that
He scores one with left foot, he scores one with his right
And When his playing Brighton, He scores all f***ING Night!

No I don't want pardew back. I just want to a team capable of scoring against m boro. If we concede the game ain't over.

Ah, you mean a manager who likes to attack and have his team score goals and can come back from 3-1 down to be leading 4-3 with 5 minutes to go, that kind of thing?

To at least give it a shot, if you'll pardon the pun.

I agree. But can't think of anyone who likes his teams to entertain like that that is free.

We've been far to negative under Sam. Stick to a formation that gets the best out of benteke and zaha. Like Everton and stoke, we knew once concede game over. I'm not saying all out attack, but able to create more chances, than recent weeks

Getting the balance right is the difficult part, but surely entertainment must come into the equation. The fans unrest in the last few weeks stands from the lack of entertainment, but is put down to players not being interested.
I would rather be entertained and loose than loose after a boring game.
Tony Pullis seems to have got the balance right. Hopefully Sam can do the same and get us out of this s***.
With Boro and Leicester both seemingly unable to score goals we have two weeks to focus on the attacking side to our game and get at them from the start.

But I have just read that prior to Saturday's game Townsend comes second to Valencia in terms of the number of crosses in PL this season.Valencia has hit 123 crosses, to Townsend's 112.

When anyone interviews SA he always comes across a battered man I bet his thinking what the fxck have I taken on her he knows we are down already and thinking we have no chance what so ever of staying up

I fear the time for clean sheets have now passed and the need of wins with or without clean sheets is now paramount to our survival. BFS did say when he came that he was not worried about scoring goals because we did it on a regular basis he wanted to concentrate on clean sheets. Well so far we are still letting Goals in and not scoring any. That to me is not progress. Ok still plenty of games to play but we now have to sort out achieving clean sheets and to restart scoring goals.

I think part of SA's frustration is not being able to field the side he wants.

Dann injured, Sakho not quite fit. Cabaye carrying a knock.

We have the potential to field a much improved 11 but we haven't been able to yet.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

A solid defensive foundation and a focus on clean sheets hasn't hindered Chelski or Spurs - they've just managed to get the attacking side of the game working in balance with it.

Benteke is at his best with good service & team mates running beyond in support which should be doable if they had confidence in the back 3/4/5.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

SA has brought a negative mindset that the players have not responded to positively. It's looking like he's turned a bad situation into a disastrous one. I don't think so many changes where needed tactically, he just needed to adjust some things in training; get fitness up, make us a bit better from set pieces and get the players not chasing wins when drawing all the time.

He's brought too much negative thinking and just thought that the goals would continue to flow. The players have been abysmal but the managers not doing a great job either.
