Something is wrong at Palace, we look broken. I was at the game yesterday, at the end of the game the disconnect from the players to the fans was obvious. It must be human nature that if your continually abused and/or receive negativity at a time when you feel you need support the most you will react defensively to it all. I agree the players need to do their part by showing the commitment to the shirt, they need to lift the fans like we need to lift the players. Problem is we just don't seem to have that championship and first 2 seasons in pl spirit any longer. So what can be done? Allardyce has not had the impact we would have expected, he's almost shell shocked by it all. The argument is that he had the same history when he joined Sunderland, losing his first 9 out of 11 or something. Hopefully this will be the case with us. I also think we desperately need the Dann and Sakho partnership and get rid of the two clowns Delaney and Tomkins, who have not shown anywhere near enough for the club in many ways! The question is, is replacing Allardyce with 13 games left really an option, as crazy as it sounds? He hasn't lifted the players on his arrival and hasn't lifted them from this punch drunk behaviour which is resulting in us heading for the championship. All pundits and critics, non palace people, believe we have too much quality. I just feel the situation is way deeper than a quality issue. Would giving a new manager, I have no idea who, an opportunity to come in with say 10 games as an impact give us a fighting chance? Let's face it, if we do go down Sam won't be with us anyway. In all honesty I'm not overly advocating a change in Manager, I just wondered what the general consensus was if It was agreed that Sam just has not worked out, it's been a mistake for him and us. Do we cut our loses and take a gamble on someone else hoping for a reaction? What do we have to lose? We are sinking without a trace. We are looking a well beaten unit, no belief or direction. I just cannot understand what has happened to the club we knew. I don't believe changing Sam would make any difference the problem we have goes much deeper. Just look at our record over the last 13 months that is relegation form in a big way. I am confused and fed up as I was believing we had at last arrived as a club to be reckoned with, But NO we are Palace and we always mess it up don't we!!!

When the players were all on a similar wage we had unity, spirit and commitment now we allegedly have Benteke on £120k a week, Cabaye on £82k. Not so bad if they are earning their money but they are not and this alone must cause resentment. Add to this the desparity in wages with Zaha allegedly on £40k and you have trouble. This is where I believe our problems lie and have steadily grown over the past year.

There is supposedly no spirit because the players don't like Allardyce or there is a disparity in wages or it's the fault of the Americans. There is always someone coming up with a new theory that he posts as fact. I didn't see any lack of spirit yesterday and we were beaten by a better team who played better on the day. According to my eyes the biggest difference between them and us was Joe Allen and I'm sure that if we had him in our team and they had Punch we would have walked off with the points.

Disparity with wages and signing players like Benteke and Cabaye is a massive issue. The unity, morale and team work that made us such a formidable team when compared to the sum of the parts, has gone and now we have a bunch of disinterested individuals. Placing faith and trust in that idiot Pardew to oversee our "transition" was the start of the rot, and now we seem to be in freefall. Selling Yala also tucked us up as he and zaha were our two most attacking threats and defensive assets by holding the ball up and keeping opposition left backs busy. Townsend just isn't the same player as Bolasie and we've lost that element to our game now. Performers from last season and beyond... Ward, Delaney, Ledley, Punch etc have been woeful and their limitations shown up. Poor man management and Pardews and now Allardyces failure to get the most out of these average players has to be a factor here. Under Pulis we were tight at that back, organised. closed teams down, attacked with place on the counter, had everyone playing out of their skin, knowing their role within the team and everyone at the peak of their fitness. Now we just look like a bunch of clueless headless chickens.

As for what can be done, I think we need to go back to basics. Sort the defence out and make us hard to beat. Drop Hennessey, Ward, Cabaye, Ledley and Punch. I'd be tempted to drop Benteke as well, but there is still the chance he will click into gear and scoring the goals that will save us, just like at Villa. Schlupp and Wilf on the wings, McArthur and Milivojevic in front of the back 4 and Townsend or Remy behind Benteke. Fight for every ball, scrap for everything and hit teams on the break and make use of set plays. Proper backs to the walls seige mentality amongst the players and SA givin my each player clear instructions on how to play. On paper we can do this. We have the most talented bunch of players in the bottom 6 and aren't cut adrift. We just need to match our other relegation candidates in terms of desire and we can do this, but you have to fear we just don't it in us.

The problem started when parish started looking at a European place. To achieve this we bought fancy players like cabaye who changed what got us here in the first place. Pardew went for tippy tap football shipped out sperone who did absolutely nothing wrong NOTHING wrong. Every team has a spine. We have none. If Tompkins was so good you have to ask your self why did Westham get rid of him! The whole thing has been a cock up and the team hasn't been run inteligently. We buy a 30 million pound striker and lump the ball up to him, Murrey and gale were suited better for that style of football and I don't buy that they wouldn't do a job for us. Add to all the above a midfield which continually passes backwards and an expensive forward line starved of service. Let's be clear, most of the players we have aren't playing for the club or the fans they are merely there for the money. All those on inflated salaries will be gone come summer because they won't accept pay cuts and so will those on lower fixed salaries because they'll think they are worth more than they are getting. They'll go to the teams coming up or becalmed in the lower Premiership because that's how it usually works. BS has got to cull the lightweights and those with attitudes in the team because we're running out of time.

Bamford, who the f..k aloud that!! This is a typical HOL post. When Bamford's loan was announced everyone was pleased as we had just acquired the Championship player of the year. Ok it didn't work out but hindsight is a wonderful thing and I don't think that anyone can be blamed for bringing in Bamford at the time
