All the money we are earning as a club seems to be going into players' pockets and apart from anew training ground under soil heating and some new lights what have we got to show from our income generated in this league, not much!

Paying underperforming players vast amounts of money who have little or no affinity with the club is it any surprise we are in the position we are in? Despite having a player like Kai Kai on the periphery he is still not being given a chance instead Palace opt to stick with Puncheon why?

Taking a beating at home every week is not fun st least in the championship we will be able to blood our youngsters and okay players who want to play for the badge.

Relegation to the championship will not be all bad. The premier league is not the land of milk and honey everyone makes it out to be. 99% of people currently at palace just want to get as much money out of club as possible and if we are relegated will simply move on to another club to bleed dry.

Players, managers, owners, relegations, promotions and cup runs will come and go but the fans will remain do not lose sight of they!

If we get relegated, our squad will get picked apart, our club will be in immense financial jeopardy, and the club's infrastructure will go backwards.

I don't know why so many people love proclaiming that relegation will somehow cleanse this club for the better. It requires a complete mental block of how things actually were in the Championship.

I couldn't have put it better myself. As I've posted previously, if we are relegated it won't be like previous occasions, with a benevolent owner prepared to throw good money after bad. We now have multiple owners, at least two thirds of whom are in it to make a profit and, let's face it, three out of the original four weren't slow to reduce their holdings when the Americans came knocking. We wouldn't have the investment to 'do a Newcastle'; we'd be in real trouble with a League One infrastructure and I fear what the future would hold.

What is the point of the Championship being in existence?

Lets be fare here, Parish and the owners have invested into the playing squad. They are all assetts. Some will of course go down but others will go up. Parachute payments will kick in so they will have the oney for the wages. Hardest part will be the majority of the team will probably be sold and we would need to rebuild. Pretty much like Villa and other relegated teams have to.

It's a league for second rate clubs to play in.

I know this because I've read it here many times that (insert name) found his level in the Championship as he just wasn't good enough to play in the top league

We would still have, on paper, a far stronger squad than most teams. We'd need to find about 40m (I would guess) to balance things out a bit, and Wilf is going regardless this summer, in my opinion. So that's 25m-30m right there.

The yanks are rich enough and smart enough not to accept a fire sale, or to accept players' requests to move just because they want to get back in the PL. They would act in their own financial interests, which would not include selling assets below what the otherwise could.

So it would come down to management of that squad. A few years of mismanagement and things really really could get hairy to the point of deep financial trouble.

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

Is it the place where there are no greedy players, everyone is playing with pride and passion for the shirt. All teams are fielding as many youngsters as possible, nobody worrying about winning, as they don't want to go up into that nasty Premier League.
All the managers jobs are safe, as they are working for friendly old chairmen in sheepskins, who are bankrolling the club as a hobby with no ambition.
Why would any team ever want to leave as it sounds a fantastic place to be!

i agree that the premier league may sometimes be a poisoned chalice.

but when you reflect upon our population base, our wealthy housing market and hence wealthy fans buying season tickets ( compared to Stoke/middlesboro etc) and the demise of Millwall and Charlton.....

we deserve to be as big as West Ham / Newcastle / Sunderland / Everton etc.

North London manages to support 2 big prem clubs.

anything less than this and we are underperforming.

It does, but down here you've got most people supporting either: Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea, Spurs or Liverpool, with a few West Ham thrown in the mix. I don't know what it was like back in the day, but I'll hazard a guess of Sky televising all of those games as having some impact.

To put this into perspective, when I left my all boys school in 2013, I was one of only 10ish Palace fans in the year (of 160)... and of that 10, I'd say 3 or 4 supported us and Man Utd or something.

The day after the Man Utd game this season, I went for a run around where I live wearing a Palace shirt, and some 14 year old made one of those "hurr Man Utd" noises in my direction. Sums up the sad state of English football at the moment.

There are plenty of greedy players in the Championship.
As for the Premier League it of course has plenty of faults but I would much prefer to stay there.
What is the alternative? To play in the Championship for eternity and avoid getting promotion every season.

All the worthless players will be out of contract and out and all the players teams might want will be under contract. Financially beneficial until......

We won't be in a Villa situation with loads of cr&p nobody wants but we will have to rebuild the side and endure the 1st part of the season of them gelling. The worst might happen 3years from relegation if nobody buys the likes of Benteke and takes his £130k wage off us.

We will lose any quality:

Dann
Cabaye
MacArthur
Zaha
Townsend
PVA or Schlupp

all gone.

Then the unwanted and out of contract all going.

Hennessey
Ledley
Delaney
Puncheon (is he out of contract this June?)
Campbell
Mutch

Yep the Championship will be welcome. Instead of losing a 5 a side team we'll be losing 11 and completely changing the whole team strategy. Yeah we'll be enjoying it every second. Have a think again.
