Let's just for a moment take away the emotions and look at why we just weren''t at the races against Sunderland.

For what it's worth here is my take.....
1. Sam is getting £4M allegedly to keep Palace up. Does this not cause a 'him and us' mentality?......he's getting all this money whilst we're getting f**k all.
2. We don't know what the relationship has been like between the Chairman and the players. For some reason do they feel hard done by (God knows why!) and it doesn't really matter what Manager is in the chair it would make no difference?
3. Sam must have known their collective state of mind because
before the match he made a number of statements about the game being high pressure and he didn't want a repeat of the Swansea match. This coming off the back of the Bournemouth match. Very odd thing to say as I believed this not only made the players doubt their own abilities but gave Sunderland a tremendous boost in confidence.
4. Right after Sam was appointed Millen made a veiled comment saying that perhaps this is what this group of players need or words to this effect. Is there a discenting faction within this group of players?
5. The fear of playing in front of your own fans over rules any game plan and the application and with it desire needed to get a result. This is perhaps the most worrying aspect and proves what a fickle group of players we have.
Clearly there is a core problem which needs sorting and quickly. Hopefully Luka and Sakho plus a fit Schlupp can help this but the players who were out there yesterday need to take a very close look at themselves both professionally and as role models.

There's only ever been one problem and that's Pardew.
This charlatan has gotten away with it since he took charge.
He had a good spell but he papered over so many cracks with the cup run.
And because he wasn't sacked early enough, we are now paying the price.
Its that simple.

I think you're reading too much into it. We lost due to a combination of bad decisions tactically and the players bottled it.

Replacing the injured Cabaye with Ledley sealed the deal. The midfield was too one dimensional, Remy should have came on with macathur dropping in to Cabaye's position. Hopefully BS has learnt his lesson from yesterday, no more Ledley puncheon combination.

That man has done untold damage to my club.
We should've learnt from Southampton, West Ham, Charlton and Newcastle.
He's always been a divisive character and anyone who can't see that is living in La La Land.

I agree wholeheartedly

What happened to the palace faithful crowd that even cheered when we losing?

( palace 0 - 3 liverpool. Then fan power surge Palace 3 - 3 Liverpool )

Many other times when the loyal fans clapped a losing palace side off greeted by Jedi n Julian for doing so

There's been no warming of allardyce towards the fans that I have seen whatsoever .... WHY ?

There's no captain going to the corner of singing n loud fans thanking them for their contribution win or lose WHY ?

There appears to be a 'distance'. between this group and the loyal fan base and the staff n players which I have rarely witnessed in 40 years of support WHY ?

It's been five weeks under the 'New order'

Sam needs to get 'in touch' with the fan base for sure, n geeee them up

The players also need to do this, as Julian tried to do a short while ago to the singing section

We need that encouragement .... that energy...right now.....!

Also guys n gals can we look past blame and just get behind our team please and stand up and be proud and be PALACE !!!

We need to get back our rep for being loud and being great supporters do we want Brighton to swap with us ?

I'm going to stoke next sat now as a result of yesterday to contribute let's turn this around peeps n play our part as loyal fans

Squad like a J cloth I'm afraid. A large number of players who have stepped up to the plate in the past have lost form, the replacements haven't stepped in to fill these voids, compounded with areas where we have needed huge improvements over all of our stay in the PL such as attacking centre midfield remaining. If you are playing a lone striker you have to have at least one player willing to get 10 yards from him and give him some support, instead of delivering poor balls up to him.

There are a multitude of problems, that appear obvious.

1. There appears to be no pattern to how we play, it seems to change every game. So the players don't know what they are supposed to be doing. Every player should know, what is expected of them, they don't, they seem strangers that just met in the changing room.
2. Lack of organisation in defence still. In yesterdays game, everytime we were attacking Sunderland, they were perfectly lined up in 2 banks of When they attacked us, we were shambolic.
3. No leader on the pitch, along with no desire from about 5 players.
4. Fitness was an issue, getting better.
5. No point blaming Pardew anymore, that is easy cop out.
6. Puncheon and Ledley need a long rest, not needed in the team as contribute nothing anymore.

The Liverpool game we got played off the park in that first half and there certainly wasn't any cheering from the palace end. Goals change games though and it sparks the crowd!

I'm sure if we had scored a goal early in the second half the crowd would have picked up yesterday.

I do think that the problems on the pitch are perhaps a little more fundamental than can be addressed by upping the noise level.

Good points. This is a fair point and I understand what you are getting at but yesterday surely changing the formation might of been justified ? We were playing at home against another struggling club. Why were we seemingly looking to snick a win from the off under this scenario ?

Maybe we need to take an idea from the 'w**k breaks at work' thread. As soon as they go a goal down, someone playing the worst is nominated to fake a broken leg. They all go off for a break and come back less stressed.

The play like w**kers at times. May as well.
