Result Was Needed

If ever a shambolic result was needed it was this one. Never really since promotion have we been truly in s*** street. This result is so needed. Reality is now crystal,thankfully not too late. Don't even start think that we know what it's like to be be in deep survival mode, we have no idea,talk to Sunderland fans, season after season they've had to dig in and get through,'somehow, sometimes results are needed. I truly believe this result is the best thing to happen to us.

Thing is bexley we've phaffed our way season after season weve now come unstuck, at last, it's getting into the brains of the players to step up. Needed a proper wake up , it's arrived at last.

I'm baffled as to how we can go to Bournemouth and win 2 - 0 then play that lot at home a few days later and produce that utter load of total toilet. Bournemouth aren't that bad and they're certainly not worse than Sunderland. We might have been complacent, thought "we are good now, this system works, these are s***e, we will win" and then gone to pot when it started going Pete Tong. Perhaps not all individual performances and results are indicative of a trend, of form. Bad ones and their accompanying bollockings can produce a reaction. New players will be available next week who won't be carrying baggage. On the other hand it looks now as if there are some at least who don't have the bollocks required for getting out of this.

Sometimes it does take a total shocker to mark the nadir of a team and stir the players in the gut to rise to the occasion. I remember when we lost 9-0 (or 9-1) to Liverpool early in the season a few years back and after that horror show we rose up and did really well. What I notice is the lack of passion and urgency in the play - too slow and timid. Need to jack it up and go hell for leather. Have to.

And yes I agree chateau ferret. Truly bizarre to go from 2-0 win to today's mess. Mind blowing really. Do you guys think Sam was right in the post match interview when he said it was 'fear; that caused this debacle? Must be fear of playing at home as we're more likely to win away from home. Roll on Stoke.

Today was again a classic case of tipping up with the ; yeah we'll dig out a no thrills victory. Did it it the week, alls rosy attitude. It stinks of it.
