As title states, looking to buy a Rolex. Second hand, must have box and papers. Looking for an Air King or a Datejust, but have money sitting there just in case the right Submariner becomes available. Not a fan of two tone metal, want a stainless steel bracelet. If you know anybody who deals in watches, or you yourself want to sell me one of your collection please get in touch via PM. Cash ready now but by now means in a rush to purchase. Thanks! COYP

I bought a 1969 model from Blowers in Hull. I'd recommend them.

In September, 1937, I bought my wife a new electric iron for eight and sixpence. She's still using it every day and it's never needed repair.

I used to deal in the knock offs back in the 80s. Rolex watches with Seiko mechanics.

When we moved house, we found a Rolex - and we had no idea we owned it (a hand-me-down). It turns out there's quite a healthy market for the brand, meaning that it's a seller's market right now. The trouble with Rolex is that you don't feel that special owning or wearing one. There are plenty of other marques which do that for you.

Rolex certainly make some beautiful watches but I wouldn't be able to justify buying one for myself even if I had the cash. Saw a Seiko I liked in Hong Kong about 12 years ago and have worn it every day since. Cost me £100 and I still love it.
