As a prime example of the inconsistency of refs how was the Jack Rodwell tackle yesterday not a red card?

[Link]

Presumably hacking someone down right in front of the ref is fine as long as you only use one leg.
Hope this guy's not marking Wilf on Saturday.

I just hope he's playing on Saturday....

Something like 37 games played in the Prem and not one win!

Filthy tackle though.

A repeat of this on Saturday will see Wilf get booked for simulation.

Well I think Simon's head is large; always involved in espionage. (Name that tune)

I've got no problem with someone receiving a yellow for stopping a player who is breaking away with a shirt pull or a barge - it's just one of those things and DD did it last night.

The problem I have is when it's a horrible horrible hack like Rodwells challenge last night - surely that's got to be a red for essentially two yellow card offences? Ie. one for stopping the attack and the second for the challenge itself?

And common sense can't prevail and him get any retrospective action because the referee has apparently "dealt with it" by giving a yellow.

Because pundits will continue to complain about sending off's ruining the game, when they are made, and then will complain about them not being sent off when they aren't.

Its shocking how inconsistently the rules get applied.

It's shocking how terrible pundits are.

I watched the Bournemouth game on TV and in the first 10 minutes one of the pundits had referred to Bournemouth as "Watford" three times. He corrected himself on one of those occasions. The other pundit didn't notice or correct him.

I'm not sure who the pundit/commentator was, but he is regularly commentating on our games and starts laying into Palace within about 30 seconds of the game kicking off.

I am looking to see that SA's instructions are to move effectively off the ball so that Wilf is not the only threat, and they chase shadows, leaving Palace players to score - for the win.

I don't know what Sam's instructions actually were, but it seems pretty clear that they weren't carried out.
