I know this is slightly Captain Obvious, but if we are to survive the dreaded drop our home form will be everything. Apart from Spurs and Arsenal all our home games are teams around us and on paper - winnable. Whereas we still have to travel to Chelsea, Liverpool, City and Man U. So I guess the point of this post is to call on us palace fans to get behind our boys and make Selhurst park a fortress. COYP Attachment: fortress.jpg (75.81Kb)

According to the BBC website, we've got the highest percentage of our points away from home, of any Premier League side in history. So by the same token, we must have the smallest percentage of our points from home games. We really do need to improve our home performances.

Which as a ST holder is a bummer!! I guess its slightly a mental thing for the players, but with the new players they wont have this. A win on saturday could be a catalyst.

The question that needs to be asked is why have we been so poor at home, because Selhurst Park has been anything but a fortress.

Sunderland and Boro are our next two home games... Things are looking brighter for us but we need 6 points, not just to capitalise on our winnable games but to push the likes of Boro below us. Good news is a couple of performances exactly like last night's will do it.

The home form imo is a mixture of: The way we play - we are a counterattacking team and at home teams know this and sit back Mental issue - it has now set into players minds which id suggest is one of the hardest things to put right

Yeah, I know how stats and percentages work. Over one season, stats don't mean so much. Nor the 'one game' stat SA had with England. But as the stat relates to our 7 seasons in the Premier League and the Premier League has been going for over 25 years, it is, in my opinion, noteworthy. Edited by PA (01 Feb 2017 11.39am)

That and our expansive play amounted to waiting for the away side to line up 11 behind the ball and us to pass it across the back 4. Only after going a goal down and playing havoc football in the 2nd half did we have a chance. Then when fitness and focus dropped we let in the inevitable late goal. After Everton at home and Bournemouth away we are regaining that, 'Well what have you got to threaten us then? Ok that's it? Have some of this then.' Goal to us. That's where confidence in getting results comes from. Knowing you're not going to let in goals at any second.
