I don't mean to put a downer on what's been a great night but I've just had a proper look at our fixtures for the first time and ! The last couple of months are very hard on paper, especially the final away games and with our home form being so atrocious I'm suddenly feeling less optimistic!

Am I looking into this too much?!

The big 6 will invariably win against the lower teams so I would rather try and nick points knowing something to battle for. Think it could be a 36 pointer this year

KEEP THE FAITH and whens the magic number thread coming?

Nope it's not my name

I just had a look we need to collect points in the next 4 games.
Our rivals have some hard games coming up.
Must beat Sunderland and Boro.

Except when they don't.

If you come to a fork in the road, take it.

FFS. We finally get a win and a good win, not a lucky one. Our shocking fitness under Pardew is getting corrected. We get a couple of great additions to the squad and some people are pessimistic? I say BS. If you want perspective- we've got Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Watford, Burnley, Leicester, Hull at home. We've also got Stoke, West Brom and Southampton away. Of the big clubs Man Utd away is last game, which they will probably have nothing on. Liverpool have shown themselves to be vulnerable at home recently. Also Spurs can't keep winning. Then there's Arsenal at home and Chelsea and City away. Sod them. We need 21 points to be sure and 16 to scrape it. That's 5 or 6 wins and a couple of draws. We are Palace, we have the team, the squad, the management, the chairman, the board and importantly the Fans. We will do this! Hull, Sunderland and Middlesbrough (have you seen their run-in?) to go down for me. It's a North East wipe-out!

We got a solid result with a squad of players very new to each other. Our defending is better and now can only improve with the new players, staff and Sam. We have no problem scoring goals especially once we can forget about whether our defenders will hold up. We now have a strong squad, a good manager, and great supporters. This is now a different team to the one reflected in the 2016 stats. Upwards and onwards from here. Sam will get them improving for the next battle - whereas genius Pardew would have taken them all to a disco, given them the week off, and got sooooooo surprised and shocked at being done 6-3 by Sunderland. A different outfit now. I'd be surprised if we don't escape relegation.

When its near the end of the season matched can be 'dead'. Hopefully the winner of the PL has been decided or neither Manchester clubs can win it and Euro places have been decided for them.

dont care who we've got. everyone has to play the same teams so we're all in the same boat. as long as we end up with more points than whoever is in 18th place, i dont care

The game against Sunderland will be hard. One win last night by no means suggests all is well. It's a start. A great start but let's not get carried away. Sunderland are going to fight tooth and nail for the points Saturday make no mistake.

I believe at this stage that there are enough fixtures remaining for us to win and as has been said 6 points against Sunderland and Middlesbrough would be a great start. Sunderland had only three attempts in the whole game against Spurs (one on target)and whilst we may not dominate possession in the same way Spurs did we should now have enough class to beat them. As for playing the big teams, apart from Chelsea, they all look vulnerable at times so who knows. If we can nick a point at Stoke as well as beat Sunderland and Middlesborough February will be a good month for us and see us onto 26 points. With their fixtures I can't see Hull picking up that many and we'll have nicked points off others around us. Swansea and Leicester have tough fixtures in Feb but one game against each other. Guess we would hope for them to draw that one.
