F A Cup all about money

Watching the one show and the cup draw. So when you have a 10 year old Lincoln fan saying he wants one of the big teams away in the next round because of the money, then you know football is f***ed.

He is only projecting the feelings of the adults he lives with no doubt. Personally I would want the easiest tie possible to give the best chance of progressing to the next round.

For some of these lower and non-league clubs that can be the difference between survival and bankruptcy

Big club away, is the pay day for low league and non-league clubs. They'll sell out their ticket allocation which will be bigger than their typical home crowds, plus have a reasonable chance of getting on TV (and earning rights). It also can gear up a lot of lapsed fans back to the games again. And to top it all off, a giant killing does wonders for your home crowds. Beat a top team, and you're on TV next round.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time. |
