He has been actively persued by West Ham, so unlikely to suddenly switch to Palace and in any case I thought our priorities wer defensive?

Brentford signed him from Rochdale in a £750K deal - signed by Mark Warburton. He was at Halifax FC at the same time as Jamie Vardy and Millwall's Lee Gregory.Has had lengthy spells out with an injury to the same knee and I think missed the start of this season.Apart from the goals he scores, a feature of his game is his excellent movement.
Target for us ? - this is a new one on me.

SSN also saying we have made an enquiry, whatever that means, guess he would be replacement for CB, especially if he has excellent movement unlike CB who like to stand around WAITING FOR THE BALL TO COME TO HIM!

Would appear to be insurance if we do drop. Proven goal scorer at championship level and a good partner for Wickham and a replacement for Bent eke who won't be with us if we go down.

Agree with this. If it comes off this for me is more of a Parish signing than Allardyce.

Yes, let's replace our £30 million top-scorer, who is proven in the Premier League, with a Championship striker.

Are West Ham preparing for The Championship by trying to sign him?
