I won't pretend the doom and gloom isn't justified. The Schlupp injury sums everything up at the minute BUT we are one win from triggering a run of form. It's a weird one. For me I've felt this coming for a while. Over expectation has killed us. Pardew wanting to take us to the next level ripped out our character. Tourists at selhurst are starting to ruin the atmosphere. However, one win is all it takes. We as fans need to reclaim that atmosphere both home and away. We've become resigned to losing. That isn't us. Believe people. Believe.

A league win has become so hard to achieve, not so long ago we were getting wins away at places like Liverpool and Everton now those times seem a hundred years ago,and impossible to repeat.

Agree with OP, though I don't blame AP for wanting to improve us any more than I blame him for Pape's smash.
We move in the direction of our thoughts. |

We will get two more victories before the season is out. Let's hope it is tomorrow against small club Bournemouth who only managed 3 goals at home last time against some other small club named Arsenal As long as the team give their all, play with shape and desire, and sweat like a jockstrap in the sahara I will be pleased whatever the score because it will be then we possibly have turned the corner.

Strangely enough, over the decades, Palaces' fortunes seem to mirror my own.

The idea was good but we just didn't have enough quality to see it through. The Leicester success last season may have given hope to the smaller teams but they were lucky to have a world class player in Kante in midfield and this season they are lost without him. To get such a player is very unusual for a smaller team. We are going back to basics now and I think that Sam can get us out of it but he needs a win and our support.

Whilst I agree that one win may be all that's needed to get the confidence back I'm afraid that I disagree with almost everything else in your post. "Over expectation has killed us" I don't think that most of us have suffered from over expectation. We have expected to beat Swansea and Hull just as every other club has done but I don't think that's over expectation. "Pardew wanting to take us to the next level ripped out our character" is also untrue as it wasn't his desire to take us to another level that caused the problems but the inability of him and the team to achieve those goals. I'm not sure how much the atmosphere at home games has to do with the results because we have been the self styled kings of atmosphere for quite a time but also have the worst home record. I still think that a convincing win could well kickstart our season

Pardew always banged on about fine margins. No reason why we should not get something from Bournemouth and Sunderland. Schlupp injury not as bad as first feared, van arnholt coming in may give the team a lift and if the players gain a little confidence who knows? a win would do absolute wonders for the squad and that is not out of the question tomorrow night. Let's try to stay positive chaps! ( ladies too of course!)

NO REASON WHY WE SHOULD NOT GET something from Bournemouth! Now to Sunderland....noticeable how up tight every one gets and you could feel the tension at 70 minutes at the Vitality this evening. The players gained confidence from the win this evening.Always a roller coaster but things do look a little brighter. I reckon another three points on Saturday. UP THE PALACE!! 😁
