Great result for BFS having achieved his objective of showing no interest in the Cup he managed to pull it off against Citeh having failed against Bolton. Maybe the tide is turning and results are starting to go his way. Let us hope so.

Why do some people insist on referring to Allardyce as BFS?

Exactly, there are some very weird people that take this defeat as anything but a blessing so we can concentrate on Tuesday night instead (think we'll nick a win there) Honestly did anyone think that team put out today would be capable of a win? starting with Mutch FFS

I can't understand how some people think losing is beneficial. It's not cup or league. The confidence will be drained even further after yet anything morale sapping loss. It makes Tuesday now much harder.

Which is why I would think Brighton ain't too worried about there defeat either (although it does make you giggle) a cup run now would have been the last Sam or the players were worried about.

I wonder if these same people had abbreviations for Mr Pardew (I very much doubt it) or to them was he GOD?

Sam isn't all that fat by modern obesity standards. Oliver Hardy was considered pretty fat in his day, but looks quite slim compared to many average people these days (especially in the USA). Fat isn't what it used to be and I don't think Sam really qualifies these days.

City put a side out to ensure they won, so even with a full-strength team we would have found it hard. This way we got to have some extra match practice under Allardyce but at the same time it is not a humiliating defeat (unlike it was Brighton or Liverpool) so we can easily move on. If we'd lost to Bolton I think that would have been of concern, but the only damage this will have done in my opinion is getting Schlupp injured.
