Why was he substituted again with the inevitable result? was he injured again? or was he knackered? Even a half fit McCarthur is better than Ledley and Cabaye.
Remy should have started instead. Schlupp should also have started at left back

Let's keep the ball this season!

jimmy mac is mustard, possibly our most influental player.

needs to be playing alongside cabaye, not instead of him.

dont know why he was subbed, hes so comfortable on the ball woth both feet its lovely to watch.

His first game back after a lay off, hardly surprising if he was running out of steam.

Most certainly not European.

I know you hate Sam Allardyce, and did not want AP fired, but you are grossly stretching things if you think McCarhur was good for 90 minutes after being out injured.

I normally read your posts because you are generally reasonable, but your hatred for Sam seems to have clouded your judgement. It is almost as though you are looking for any excuse to criticize him.

If you come to a fork in the road, take it.

Sorry to disappoint, but we are not going down.
Sam, agreed needs time to settle in and see the big picture and with a few more signings before the window closes,he will keep us up,not like ' clueless',who would have taken us down.

All easy to say at 11.41pm of course.

So you think we should have started a player who has been out all season and had basically no competitive minutes under his belt, start a player who has had less than 1 training session with the squad and play another who has just returned from injury for 90 minutes?

Could Schlupp have done any worse than Joel Ward playing out of position? The rest of the players looked as though they hadn't played together before.
As far as McArthur's concerned, would an extra 15 minutes have made any difference? He went off in the 79th minute and Carroll scored within 30 seconds. A great goal, but Ward didn't get tight enough to him.
Pardew also substituted McArthur's in two previous games and we lost both times.

That's the spirit Jacey, Big Sam will turn it round. It was probably always going to get worse before it got better. He'll turn it around.

Mcarthur is a good player, but one stat i saw last season that sticks with me is that he was the premier leagues most dribbled past player at one stage.
