What is it about Palace that we find ourselves in this desperate position. I think we all agree on paper we have the players to be in the top half. So why is it all going so wrong? All the years (59) I have supported Palace every time we get on a role it ends up going wrong, why are we jinxed or something? I must admit this last 12 months has been bloody awful and I am sick and tired of losing. I just hope Sam can maintain his record of never being relegated and I wish him and his staff all the best. Come on Palace!!!

Come on Palace!!! I ask myself the same question so many times! I wish I could have the same attitude as my young nephews who just switch team every week and not take it all too seriously. There are not many clubs who have our bad luck. What I do know is that 2 years ago when we were in the same situation, all the fans were behind the team and Pullis produced. Selhurst Park was buzzing - and the players wanted to perform! Sadly, we seem to have used up all our energy and everyone feels flat.

Just how I feel Vince, I began to relax when Pulis came in. I was bored at the end of the season as we were safe. Oh boy do I ever want to be bored again!!

Players can be good, but if they don't play as a team, with a strategy that works, with run of luck then here we are.. just look at Leicester

Just look at the likes of Burnley they seem to get it right with no so called "big players". Perhaps we just don't know how to handle our so called "big players"

I am also mystified as to why we can never consolidate our position when we get into the top division. We always seem to find some way of messing up. We have moments of promise when we are led into thinking we might have made it - 1979 and the team of the 80s (relegated a season later), finishing 3rd in the early 90s (relegated a couple of seasons later), a couple of mid table finishes in 2013-14 and 2014-15 only to be followed by a rapid decline. We flatter to deceive and appear doomed to repeat history time and time again.

They have players who want to play for the team and not an overpaid prima donna in sight. They're basically us from the second half of the 2013-14 season under Pulis. Us? We're Aston Villa from last season.
"Look at that. Accident blackspot? These aren't accidents! They're throwing themselves into the road gladly! Throwing themselves into the road to escape all this hideousness!" |

Come on Palace!!! We had that decent second half of our first season, under Pulis, who then did all that work on fitness and had instilled a bit of steel into the team. The benefits of that were still there when Pardew joined and we had a decent second half to our season again. We started our third season well, but it should have been obvious that we needed to strengthen the squad in the January window, which we failed to do. The FA cup clouded the fact that, in 2016 we were simply awful and Pardew should have been sacked last May. We failed to replace Bolasie or get proper back-up for Souare in the summer and we seemed to let fitness take a back seat whilst we were cruising around the US, in contrast to a Pulis-style boot camp. How, in light of our results in 2016, Parish was persuaded to let Pardew start experimenting with a more 'expansive' style, when we couldn't get the basic right, God only knows. At the latest, Pardew should have gone after the Swansea game, and that brings us to where we are now, a demoralised unfit team, who've got into the losing habit. We've been in a tailspin for over a year and it's going to take more than a month to pull us out of it. Judge Allardyce after this window and give him 'til the end of February to have a real impact on the team and consolidate the new signings (hopefully it will be plural). If the patient isn't on the mend by then we may have to accept that the decline is terminal, but I haven't given up yet.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

We have no choice but to back Sam as we can't keep changing managers.
