I like his style. He does not seem to get involved in tittle tattle about other clubs and managers. He is not prickly like Pardew could be towards the journalists. Lets give the guy a break. He has only been here two weeks, has probably only had three training sessions maximum due to the amount of games in such a small period of time. His press conference gave me optimism that our season basically starts again now. We currently have 9 key players out injured, plus 2 others (Wilf and Sako) at the AFCOM tournament, and he says he will bring in hopefully some new players to give everyone a lift. He did not put us in this position, so lets get behind him

the relegation dogfight starts now. There are 4 teams and three will drop. us throwing a lifeline to Swansea was the wake up call we needed. Swansea will probably go down anyway. After that , its really exciting and unpredictable. i will enjoy this, and we will stay up if Parish and the americans give Sam a few quid to play with. i predict it will go to the last game of the season with us needing only a draw and Sunderland needing to win their game.

There are plenty more than 4 teams. Swansea, Hull, Sunderland, us, Boro, Watford, Burnley, and Leicester. All fighting it out. And should really include Wet Spam in that list as well.

Just going to copy and paste what I said before into this thread to as it goes well with this as well: Sam has only been here for about 14 days and has had 3 games in that time. He probably hasn't had anytime to get to know the players and his best team. He managed to keep a very poor Sunderland side up last year when they were in the bottom three, we aren't and I very much suspect that for the FA Cup game he won't be playing our main side, so he now has two weeks to work with the team and work out the players and how to get the players back to their best form. 2 days before the Swansea game we played Arsenal, and although they weren't at their best either, they are still a great team with the ball and would have knackered out players out and I generally believe that if we would of had longer to rest and talk tactics etc, we would of won that game, so that is a bit of bad luck. So what I am saying is, don't give up and get behind the team. A few seasons ago everyone would of been happy staying up and our team isn't fantastic anyway, and it has also been played about by Pardew. In two weeks time I think we will see a much better display at West Ham and if I am wrong then fair enough, but don't give up yet as we have been able to turn these relegation situations around before with a worse side.

Listen to Sam's interview and thought he was honest in his appraisal of the situation we are in. He doesn't take any prisoners re: players not giving their best so he will get rid of them.

Absolutely. There are certain sides whose form is fading (Burnley and Watford, e.g) and there are several teams who can get dragged into the mire. 18 games to go. A lot can (and will) happen between now and May.
