Apologies for the negativity, but last night was the final straw. I have sympathy for the fact that our injury list has been horrific for the last 12 months and still it continues with Dann and Benteke. We simply do not have the resources to replace quality with quality during injuries and suspensions.

But since the Americans have come on board, we concentrated on reaching a Cup Final - probably for PR purposes, and have spent money on players like Benteke who are to big for a club like Palace - interested in the money, but not playing for Crystal Palace. Marquee signings just do not work for clubs like Crystal Palace. Players who want to do well and get better are players that work. We have taken our eye off the ball.

I can understand the investment was needed to improve the club, but not at the expense of running a tight ship which is what SP did. He is now just simply the mouth piece for the Americans. I have no doubt that he didn't fire Pardew and have no doubt he didn't hire Allardyce.

We're a lost club and I don't blame anyone other than the club in general for letting the Americans in and the razzmatazz that comes with that. All this nonsense that we've been 'Pardewed' is nothing but that. Despite what anybody says, Pardew is a good manager and I believe would have turned it around once the injuries got better. We were ticking along nicely before the Americans came along and the injuries occurred. Allardyce is a short term fix to keep us 17th, and even that is looking unlikely at the moment.

Just a mess, and if we do go down, there is just not many at the club I would keep. Sadly the PL brings nothing but problems for clubs like Palace because the amount of money that comes with it. Just a horrible and disgusting league.

If we go down I'd like us to see everyone chopped from the wage bill and build a new team from youth. They won't come straight back up but they can develop together.

I'm not entirely serious.

I should add, that I still have a glimmer of hope that we won't go down, and given the choice of Prem/Championship I'd still want to see us in the Prem.

I happen to believe that Allardyce believed certain players could deliver for him ie Benteke,Cabaye,Townsend etc etc but now on reflection thinks that this is not the case and that he has a much tougher job than he had imagined.

Pundits look at the squad and they talk about "Under-Achieving" and inferring we are too good to go down. Have they really seen that Cabaye is not the player he was at Newcastle ? They probably look at "England International" Townsend - what the hell has he done in recent seasons ? They look at 'Flamini' - he is now 32 and not the Flamini they imagine. They look at 'Welsh International' Ledley who was in Euro 2016 - He looks as though he doesn't have the 'Legs' required and hasn't done anything at club level for ages. They probably hold Puncheon in higher esteem than the fans who see him week in and week out.Have they really looked at our striker options - Wickham always injured, Remy injured and not playing a game for us, Campbell who isn't a PL striker, then Anderson,Ladapo, Jonathan Benteke !

sack them all. Underperformers. Overpaid.

The players that got us up ( and kept us up), were giants. Most of this current lot are not stepping up to the mark.

Cabaye is over-rated. He has not delivered for all that money. ditto Townsend.

He also said that hes learning things about the players very quickly probably meaning the above three

Totally agree! Bang on!

Pardew was obsessed - as we all were - with getting some big names in to appease the fans and hopefully carry us through. A more savvy manager would have looked for players that were natural fits for a system that he wanted to deploy with success! Look at Bournemouth for examples of this! When you had a chancer for a manager for as long as we did, then you've gotta be prepared for some serious unravelling / starting again. Pardew should have gone after the cup final but a lack of viable management alternatives resulted in the board taking a punt with him this season! We are. Ow living with that decision ...

I'm just glad we have Sam here now as if there's anyone capable of getting us out of this nosedive ... it's him! But if we get relegated then we have to make sure we keep him so he can work his magic over the summer ...

Because the reality is that we are in deep s***. Under performing players. Players injured. Losing players to tournaments, no sign of a player coming in. The window is open. A new left back has been the priority since September. One should have been lined up and completed by 2nd January and in the meantime another 3 points have disappeared.

On the bright side, we have a manager who's only been here 10 days, who's never been relegated from the PL and has a track record of saving real cack from relegation. We have a transfer window open and money to spend. There's still 18 games left. Zaha will be back from the AFCON in three weeks or so, maybe less and we don't have a PL game for a fortnight. We have a number of players coming back from injury before the next PL game. NOW CHEER UP FFS!!
