Just my opinion but ever since all this international talk has happened, he has been shocking and is trying to impress by doing all the fancy rubbish and it isn't working Anyone else agree?

Agree he is not playing like he should and STILL goes down far too easily even after last weeks match. The referees have got used to him so give nothing now. It seems he has not learnt anything but lets face it he has always been a loose cannon.
Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

The arse just doubled up on him and he got no where, the first chance he had to cross was in the first few minutes and instead he tries to take on 2 inside the box. I was at least expecting a blocked cross leading to a corner if not a cross into a dangerous area.

I think Sam will sort him out and tell him to cut out the tantrums and histrionics. Credit to him for all the running he did today. I thought he earned his corn.

He is certainly not right mentally! He is brilliant on his day but all the theatrical complaining is EMBARRASSING and making him look like a petulant teenager. He needs to pack it in and focus on getting the ball back! His recent antics Do however make it easier to come round to the idea of him leaving at the end of the season!

He doesn't play well on the left and we now have little or no crosses coming in for Benteke from the wings as both he and Townsend need to keep cutting in. I said before Pardew left that Townsend needs to be told to get out on the left wing and stick some decent crosses in. I'm not interested in what he does or doesn't want; he's a bloody employee and here to do what he's told. If he doesn't like it, he can piss off. He's the complete antithesis of a team player.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Thing is, I can see Wilf getting in a strop if he keeps being asked to play left wing. And I can see Townsend finding form on the right. So if that happened would you say Wilf wasn't a team player? Harsh fact is, neither is anywhere near the same player on the left but Wilf does a marginally better job there with his pace. I'd quite like to know if a discussion was had with Townsend about where he would play before we recruited him.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

Townsend is left-footed and is more than capable of providing a decent supply from that wing as well as having some shots. He wants to play on the right so that he can keep cutting in and having a shot himself, which is strangling the supply to the lone striker and Zaha is just as bad on the left. At the moment we have the worst of both worlds, but let's see how Townsend gets on when Zaha is at AFCON and how someone other than Zaha does the left.

I think we're seeing the Wilf of this time last year, where he's basically being asked to win games alone. He played well in the autumn, so now we've decided just to give it to him and expect him to create something. It's like re-watching the FA Cup final where Utd knew exactly what we wanted to do and every time he gets the ball he's got two or three men on him. We need a full back who can overlap him and take a marker away, and a number ten who can take some of that creative burden. Getting some decent play out of Townsend wouldn't be a bad thing either...
Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time. |

Makes you wonder why we actually bought him or did we think that Wilf could be on his way?

You get kicked all over the shop for 90 mins without getting the bump. Yes he needs to be careful but he gets sweet FA protection from refs. I can't believe that fans get on his back at the slightest thing when he was our most consistent player in 2016.
