Can't watch it - will be too stressful. Saw the video on the news of that arsehole farmhand kicking pregnant cows and throwing new born calves about in the cowshed. I want to do lasting damage to him very slowly and methodically involving his bollocks and a large pair of hobnail boots.

We have an obligation, I believe, to ensure that even where animals are raised for produce or food, to ensure that the amount of suffering is reduced to the unavoidable. Ideally, I'd like to see the end of battery farming of animals, even if it means we have to pay more for produce. As for the c**t Hoof mentioned, he should be in court facing animal cruelty charges and never be working with animals again, and the farm in question should be levied with fines for allowing such abhorrent behaviour (Personally I'd say cover him in apple sauce, cable tie his hands, and throw him into the pigs). It demeans us all, to permit unnecessary cruelty or suffering in any form in society, regardless of the species or industry involved.

Better that we pay a bit more, than to permit such cruelty and suffering. As we leave the EU, I'd like to see the UK subsidise free range farming in the UK, and place an import tariff on battery farmed meat.

You should give it a go hoof, it is a 360 degree view of life as a pig or a chicken and has narration too.

I just don't get animal cruelty in any form and for any reason. I'm not sure if that makes me weak, over sentimental or less of a lad, but it just doesn't compute in my head. I could never watch that link. Bad enough that I regularly have to drive past a truck load of poor souls on their way to be slaughtered.

I feel sick to my stomach knowing the impending doom of the sheep on board those trailers and just pray that they are not going to a Halal slaughterhouse so their last moments on this earth are not as bad as they could be by stunning them before any butchery is done at least.

I'm fortunate enough to live fairly close to an organic pig farm which I drive past several times a week and can see the pigs wandering about in the huge fields. I buy most of my pork from their farm shop and a joint large enough to feed four or five people probably costs a pound more than the equivalent sized joint of tasteless cardboard sold by the supermarkets
