I liked Alan Pardew. If I was his boss, I'd give him a good reference. "Wherever Alan has been employed, he has always been fired with enthusiasm," I would begin. Er. Did I leave a comma out, after fired. What next? What other positives could I put in his reference? Edited by OhthisbloodyPC (22 Dec 2016 8.27pm)

Very sorry to see Alan Pardew go. He was such a refreshing change from Pulis - not least in his affinity with the club and its fans. I always felt he was as much a fan as a manager. I hope there's always a warm welcome for him whenever he comes back to Selhurst. Will always be. a Palace legend.

Mind you, I like me, and I'd be a terrible manager. I wasn't very god at managing a Sunday League Club (even the chairman didn't like me - and I was the chairman. And the backroom staff. And, when I wasn't playing, the fan) So i can sympathise with Super Al. I wouldn't say he was a legend. I never saw him pull a sword out of stone, or throw it into a lake. Although that does sound like his substitution policy.

It was such a glaring mistake and if I was an owner it would've made me think that this guy would take us down. Pardew's goose was cooked because of his totally irresponsible attempt to go for the glory result. He has nobody to blame except himself and his ego,

..yes, very sad. yeah, how will we cope as a football club and as a group? I mean, you could feel the positivity flowing around the ground, the songs, the anticipation, the excitement of a 3-2 or 5-4 loss. How will we ver replace that? Some of you lot think we're a charity or an old boys club for the 1990+ gang. Get a grip. It's as competitive as you can get. Poor little super al will be ok. £5mil ok.

I wish Pardew all the very best and wish him every success wherever he goes. I'm sure it won't be long before he is back in the game. All the best Alan. Edited by Willo (22 Dec 2016 9.41pm)

He has nobody to blame except himself and his ego, 3 mins before Jimmac was tackling 5 yards from Cabaye's embarrassingly pathetic fall under and to the side of Pogba. If it wasn't why Pogba set up Ibrahimovic it certainly showed us once again how Pardew thinks and goes. However, Pogba and other players notice a player in that area has gone off and replaced with a player away from that area and look keener for the ball and get a shot f confidence from it.
