Bob Geldof and Midge Ure are better musicians than they are meteorologists.
Their 1984 Band Aid prediction that "there won't be snow in Africa this Christmastime" has once again been proven wrong -- and this time in spectacular fashion.

Is this Viz?

As a second hand snow plough salesman I have just booked my flight.

I am assuming you know that this is linked to global warming rather than a disproof.

There won't be snow in Sub Saharan Africa doesn't really fit.

It is neither proof or disproof.

The debate around global warming is largely about the cause. Anyone over 50 can tell you that winters are milder than they used to be but is that really shocking in an interglacial period? The stitching together of core sample data and modern temperature measurement has been brought into question and there is debate about whether temperature really has gone up or down in recent years.
Certainly anyone who questions global warming is effectively blacklisted from the scientific community which makes me very suspicious.

I reckon global warming is a load of nonsense. There was no diesel cars or the like when the ice age ended.

Ended when aliens first arrived. In those days space travel was mostly by diesel, prior to electrification of flying saucers.

In 'A short History of Nearly Everything' by Bill Bryson, he wrote that many scientists attribute global warming to the fact that the earth is at the end of the last ice-age and not that man has necessarily caused the majority of the problems(?).
I'm not certain (but it definitely rings a bell) he may have also mentioned 'funding being withdrawn' from those who came to this conclusion.

Personally i think it's just another excuse to tax us.

What I find mystifying is when the global warming scaremongers say things like 'it's the first time it's snowed in these parts for 37 years' , or 'this is the hottest September day for over a hundred years'. Well what was the excuse back then, because it wasn't down to global warming then was it ?

These comments are usually made by someone with a vested interest. It's just a natural cycle. Go away and try to justify your existence somewhere else.
