Very harsh call on him for the penalty today but overall his performances have been well below par this season making costly errors and failing to lead the line effectively. Has the captains armband caused this? Was he just playing out his skin/above his level last season? Either way he looks nowhere near the rock he was which is troubling. If the leader of our back line and our team is struggling how can this awful defensive run we are going on be halted? Answers on a postcard.

Just look at the full backs he has to cover every week, no surprise really.

Ball into Diomande should have been prevented by Ledley or Cabaye actually showing some defensive intelligence. Not saying Dann shouldn't have done better but you can correct bad positioning from your midfielders.

Ward doesn't have the pace against tricky wingers and Kelly has been woeful at LB and not exactly better at RB but Dann is looking very fragile in the middle. As the Captain, arguably our best defender and supposed leader I expect him to be the one breaking his back game in game out trying to sure up the back line but I'm not seeing it, or am I being overly critical?

Watching it back again just makes horrible viewing. Ledley ought to be embarrassed, Yohan slightly less so, but still embarrassed. Poor.
