Does anyone think Parish has done any good at all by going so public in his support of Pardew?

He has clearly put a metaphorical arm round the manager in private, and they had their televised love-in during the Southampton game. But what benefit can come from his public vote of confidence? What does Parish do if in three or four weeks' time we've barely picked up a point? Stick with the manager, or boot him out and look a prat? He is quite unnecessarily (IMO) making himself a hostage to fortune - and potentially damaging his (so far) deserved reputation for wise management of the club.

He was on 'Talksport'. I haven't listened to it but he was probably just answering a question in an honest fashion.

I can only re-iterate what I stated prior to the Swansea game that he was safe even if we were defeated and that would be the case if Southampton had won.I have incessantly said that he will be given time to revive our fortunes.

Concerning for the 'Board' of course but no blind panic and knee-jerk reactions. My understanding is that Parish finds a lot of positives in relation to Pardew and what he has/is achieving.

He gave his support but also said he's under pressure just like every other manager is and that it's a results business.

Nothing he said suggested Pards is safe if results don't pick up.

I'll have to read what he said.
At the end of the day there is always a "Tipping Point" but as far as I am aware it's not imminent.

Can't be as he is ignoring the fact that his win rate since last Christmas in the PL is just a tad over 18%. As a good business man I'm surprised he is closing his eyes to the trend in PL which is our main income generator!

Maybe he sees something you don't? I imagine he knows more about the situation than you do. But I may be wrong.

I certainly didn't say it was imminent, did I?

I hope your right but trends are the future signpost of a businesses direction and on AP and the teams PL performance over the last year it does not look great unless we can start winning matches as we will need a little over 1.2 points per game for the rest of the season just to reach the magical 43 point safe margin!

I will say respectfully that I wasn't suggesting that this was your sentiment.

I have never had the impression that Pardew's hat was on a "Shaky peg" despite the results.

I might be totally wrong (I am often !) but I do get the impression that in general the 'Anti-Pardew' faction were disappointed with the Southampton result and will be hoping for some negative news tomorrow as they see a succession of defeats as the catalyst for a Pardew departure.Maybe I have totally mis-read them and if I have, I apologise without reservation.
