Do you think Scott Dann is the man? I don't think he's vocal enough. Especially compared to DD.

Who would you choose?

I think Dann has gone down hill recently, seemingly around the time he got the captaincy. As you say doesn't seem to be vocal enough and doesn't strike me as a leader on the pitch.

Delaney in a heartbeat

Trouble is if we go out and get another good center half in Jan, will DD still be playing?

Seriously I'd go for Punch or even Wilf. Both local lads with an affection for the club. Both get stuck in and work their bollock off for the team and both are vocal. I think at least one if not both of them are more than capable of rising to the responsibility.

Said on here before that Dann's form dropped as soon as he was made captain & he looks like he's too busy worrying about everyone else to keep his mind on what he does best.

Sometimes works out that way - great player doesn't = good captain & vice versa.

A good captain leads well both on & off the pitch (as Jedi did last season) so, whilst it's preferred, they don't have to be a guaranteed starter. Damo for me or possibly Punch.

Will this be five? It's gonna be five! It IS five!

Gung-ho heart; arm-around-the-shoulder; the quiet word-in-the-ear to pick up players' spirits:

Damien Delaney every time.

To be fair, DD is probably the only person on the pitch who is very vocal. Hennessey tries bless him I just don't think anybody takes any notice of him lol.

Need someone younger than DD ideally who is comfortable giving orders to people. Nobody really fits the bill.

Isn't that because Super Al has got rid of most of the alpha males....?

I'd go for neither of them. Delaney is the only left leader at the club, if he's not playing I wouldn't bother with one.

Its a big fat yes from me.
Dann has become less vocal since he got the armband. Delaney is also a leader on the pitch.

Someone suggested Wilf and Puncheon earlier? Sorry but wuld rather they focus on there own games and Wilf does tend to throw a tantrum now and again. Both actually need a leader to gee them up and calm them down at the right time in games.
