I have it from a reliable source inside the club that AP ha two games to sort it out then he may have to go. He still has the players behind him and they are as distraught as he is. They want him to stay. The thought of having him replaced by a dinosaur named Hodgson is a nightmare and will not help one little bit. Coleman has not proven himself in a league and will not be an improvement. Unfortunately fat Sam seems the only viable option to keep us from relegation. Who else is there????

Reliable source, story was in the Guardian/Express and i would not call them reliable. I dont think one player would come out and say they want him to go whilst he is still the manager.

oi Pardew. If you continue to get thick and refuse to resign, nobody else in football will ever employ you again. So do the honourable thing. Fall on your sword and leave with some dignity. 2016 has been the calendar year that at least the top third of the championship table were better than us. the remains of the work of Pulis did carry us over the survival line last season. there are no more excuses, no more optimism, no more silver lining on the horizon. Time to go. that is all. Edited by PalazioVecchio (18 Dec 2016 1.15am)

He will never get a prem offer again so holding out for huge payoff is sensible. When or if he gets a championship offer it'll be a lot lot less. The contract extension was moronic by Parish and he sure knows it.

I REALLY don't want Pardew to go as I feel that we have too many players who have not lived up to their true potential, but if the manager has to get the bullet (that is nearly always the easy option), then Quique Flores for me any day as replacement. What of bringing Coppell back to the club for added influence? We need a genuinely earthy, principled, experienced manager to take on the next stage yet I believe that Pardew's Palace love & loyalty is a key 'work in progress' for a club that nearly faced liquidation in comparatively recent years. I abandoned fantasy island years ago and have since regarded Palace as needing to maturely take small strategic steps forward. Youth development squad contains many strengths compared to many other top line clubs. Relegation though is NOT an option.

He would probably be a good choice, but he's only been at Espanyol for six months and there's no chance he'd want the job. We need to be realistic about our aspirations.
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Gary Rowett's sides are very well organized, and he did a great job at Burton and Birmingham. I agree about Quique Flores. Good but unlikely. Roger Schmidt was under pressure at Bayer Leverkusen, and Dirk Schuster has done well too, despite being sacked. He was fired after going four games without a win, and with his team in mid table! Otherwise, Peter Stoger of FC Koln. There are a couple of managers in Spain who look good too, but I cannot see my choice (currently managing Sevilla) coming to Palace. Other names I'd be happy to see considered: Mauricio Pellegrino; Fran Escriba; Eduardo Berizzo; Jose Luis Mendibilar. They've all had organized sides, and have done well with small to medium sized teams. Edited by NickinOX (18 Dec 2016 2.34pm)

To 'sort it out'? I think he surely has to beat both Swansea and Watford, regardless of performances. Pardew has consistently shown that he can get good performances out of this team, but that he lacks the guile to actually win points.
