Is it me or is Television news becoming less about news and more about propaganda.
Now I know we all see something different when we observe, but the ITV News lately has become like watching a party political broadcast on behalf of the liberal/left, ethnic minority Party.
Now I'm all for proportional representation of political views and racial demographics but that is not what I'm seeing on ITV news. It appears to be heavily weighted in one direction. I want to see news that is not selective, not full of biased editorial comment and considerate of the whole country, not just anti brexit, left wing, cosmopolitan London.
Channel 4 is generally is off the scale.

Now I know there will be some clever chaps who will tell me that it balances out newspaper right wing bias but they know that is tosh. Hardly anyone reads newspapers anymore.

Why was news of the conviction of Jo Cox's terrorist / murderer buried on p.30 of the Mail. Is it because they know that somehow they are complicit.

Well it *does* act as a counter-weight to the almost universally right wing newspaper bias in the country (with an average readership of well over 5m).

I don't really watch ITV News much so can't comment. Channel 4 it is fair to say has a left wing bias in terms of their editorial stance on issues. But then if you don't like it, don't watch it.

There's plenty of other media outlets, many with a right wing stance (Sky News for example) is easily accessible for most.

You want to talk Jo Cox?

It was a shocking cowardly act of violence on a defenseless woman by a loon.

Now of course ITV news played up up the fact that this person had rows of nicely arranged books on Nazis in his house and had his little Nazi eagle on the top of his book shelf. So we are meant to believe that he was somehow at the center of a new uprising of the third reich? Throw in a few images of dopey skin head types with their little flags and their Nazi salutes and it was all a wonderful bit of propaganda.
Look what the new Brexit/Donald Trump world has created?
Make no mistake. Whether it can be proven clinically or not, this man was a fruit cake and anyone who obsesses over Nazis and stabs a total stranger multiple times and shoots them three times for good measure can't be anything else but a nut case.

Not really the point. It is pervasive bias that influences the gullible.
Remember that the Russian Revolution was encouraged in part by Germany. Things are very rarely as they seem.

That's the only explanation of why anyone with an income of less than £150k per annum and assets of less than £1m would vote Tory.

Based presumably on the fact that we were all laughing while we bathed in money under the last Labour government?

Think about what you have just typed there nick, really.
I concourse with Hrolf it was totally devastating what happened to Jo Cox,and the guy has been rightly banged up until he dies.
But really he was a complete loon.but I think there is a massive difference between him and a rather larger group of jihadists.

I can't think of any popular newspaper with a left-wing bias only the Mirror occasionally still shows its labour sympathies.

The tabloids are right wing and appalling but just dont read them.

We are drifting into a staasi type country with surveillance and censorship - having only one party its easy to introduce these measures but its also an indication of paranoia. Oh and tinpot dictator May is spending millions on court cases to avoid parliamentary sovereignity the opposite of what brexit was supposed to be.

This year has been horrible the good and talented taken from us.

Sorry but nick on this is absolutely bang on. This is the first time that the media hasn't displayed a bias in reporting attrocities of this type.

The case has concluded he was a terrorist, inspired by white supremacy theories. To actually report him as a terrorist breaks all traditions when you look at attrocities perpetrated by the far right. They are almost exclusively reported as tragedies by crazies. Change the colour of the skin and it is a terrorist attack.

Nasty dog-whistle stories of the sort the Daily Mail specialised in (in particular around the referendum) will have almost unquestionably been a motivator for the attack. They should face up to that responsibility.
