Not a left back. Could afford one and didn't get one. Amateur. Souare could've suffered a 4 month or 2 month injury on the pitch. No excuse. We suffered at def mid for the same reasons and now it's left back although Flamini and Remy? How good have their performances been?

Sorry but IMO Kelly is the worst defender in the EPL, possibly even the worst player.

There is only so much scope for the 'no cover from the winger' statement as the opposition fly past him at every opportunity. Sterling, who we all know is not as great as he thinks he is, was made to look world class by a slow, cumbersome defender who does not even have the ability to read the game to make up for his failings.

Fryers, alas, is not the answer. He can go forward and has an ok cross on him, he can close players down but he has not made one tackle in the games he has played.

Personally I would have had Ledley as the stop gap although imagine he would have been sent off at least once by now.

So the next and last choice until the window opens is - and I cannot believe I am saying this - Sako. Guy has some pace, is a hunk of a man and in his little cameo appearance was the only player all game who not only tackled Sterling but actually came away with the ball.

Sako has been hit badly by injuries and when he has played, after the first handful of games last season, has been woeful. Kelly is only stopping him being the worst player in the EPL! However, perhaps a role he knows is his for the next ten games may just see him adapt and prosper.

I have very little faith in my suggestion but heck we need better than Kelly and we need it now so let's give it a try.

Both Kelly and Townsend are being played out of their natural positions. We crucified Ward when he was also played out of position. Can't help feeling the blame is not wholly theirs!!!

I think the criticism is a tad unfair as others have said he is filling in for the position. You have to point the finger at Pardew, Man City focused on the weak link, Sterling is rapid and was going to cause problems all day long.

I would play Tomkins on the right and ward on the left, it's clear we need some leadership on the pitch with Delaney, no one in the back line talks and that includes Hennesey.

Why we don't put men on the posts is baffling! The routine that scored the winner was tried on a couple of occasions, the goalkeeper needs to control this scenario.
