Always thought Warnock was a good bloke and this shocking story proves it. Too much of a conspiracy of silence exists around this kind of thing:

I have a massive respect for Andy Woodward coming forward - I'd be surprised if this doesn't result in further claims and accusations coming out.

Its tragic that we live in a world where we shelter such people with the stigma attached to being a victim of sexual abuse of anykind.

For those that haven't read it, this was far worse than just being abused by the coach.

And this part is staggering:

“Throughout those years at Crewe, so many people used to talk about it. Other players would say directly to my face: ‘I bet he does this to you, we know he does that.’ There was all that dressing-room bravado. Then, outside the club, it was never discussed. That’s how football worked back then: ‘We can talk about it within these walls, but we keep it watertight and it doesn’t go any further.’ Nobody wanted to break that circle of trust.

shocking stuff , it also asks the question did the people higher up know what was going on , as what happened at celtic where jock stein knew, allegedly

I'm inclined to say that it sounds like most of the club knew at Crewe.

Remember Dario Gradi? A legend who was at Crewe at that time (in between a short spell as Palace manager), he did appreciate the males as well. He probably had some idea what was going on....

Like Neil since his first stint with us. Can't believe how different he is to what the world saw when he was Sheff united manager. A real genuine and caring man.

It's startling. I don't think there were many people in football that I had a lower opinion of than him while at Sheffield United.

And yet he's now proven to have done very impressive things even prior to that job.

And he's a damned fine chiropodist, too.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

So 4 ex-players have gone public now, with another 50 or so rumoured to have called the FA support line.

Be interesting to know if Geoff Thomas or John Pemberton have anything to say on the subject - both at the club when this vile monster was around.
