Wow has he lost the plot or what, Now stating that clean sheets have never been his priority and we rather than moan, should sit back and watch the entertaining type of football we are playing, I though the first rule of football was not to concede goals.

In any case as a real supporter. I just like to see my team win, That might be lucky or not any way it comes is fine by me. If it came to a choice of exciting football but losing and leaking goals most games, that's not for me. I actually go to all home and some away games to watch my team win, I get no pleasure out of saying beaten 4-2 but didn't we do well, that don't work for me, So sooner he goes the better.

Sounds like he is trying to get his excuses in like its been his plan all along. He says everyone knows he sets his teams up to attack. Everyone? not me. I do not have a clue how he sets his team up as it changes all the time. He normally talks very well but this statement is rubbish.

Seems the players don't have a clue either the first 45 minutes of the games...

I'd rather lose 3-2 than 1-0 - at least that way we see our team score two goals - so I can see where he's coming from. Better than Dougie's policy of trying to stick to the point you started the game with.

However, that's no excuse to not try and sort out the keeper/defence problems. Conceding first in 14 of our last 16 league games means we are always having to chase the game and, like Saturday. in danger of conceding another goals on the break.

Safe survival not a priority more like. And I mean that when there's no points coming in and he goes all out for 3 and ending up with zero. The 2 biggest lash ups that stand out are Liverpool at home last season and Burnley this. He is the only manager that doesn't value prem points and that is risky. Very risky looking at the way our fixtures are going to test us.

Just read the quote again and re the comment about us having a go at Liverpool and not just sitting back - for the first half that was exactly what we did, we just sat on the halfway line and beyond and let them have the ball. You have to press teams high up the pitch like they do to us.

If we still looked defensively sound enough to shut out a big team for 90 minutes to grind out a 0-0 I'd be happy with that. But we don't. So I feel like we have to try to get some goals against the top clubs.

shocking statement by AP, You think 30 games since the start of the year and 22pts would tell him his plan is not working. I want to watch my team in the top flight so 1-0 at home and 0-0 away would do fine with me!

It is possible that his comments are being mis-interpreted, mis-construed etc etc.

I believe he is saying that we are in an entertainment industry and rather than his teams being dour and defence minded (Yes some managers are labelled as such !) he would rather set-up a more "Expansive" team to have a real go at the opposition. This does not mean abandoning defensive principles but adopting a more positive approach to the game.

Perhaps his real message is - We are in "Transition", I am trying to build a team that you supporters will enjoy watching rather than a functional team looking for 1-0 wins, so "Cut me some slack" as I work towards this.

Thing is that Pardew is running out of credit amonst many who are calling for his departure and perhaps anything he says would be criticised by those who want him out.

The statement of a ‘dead man walking’ … nothing else! He knows he’s on borrowed time now and trying to suggest our leaky defence is all part of the ‘transition’ that we are making into an attacking side who simply outscores the opposition. Again, this just highlights how unsuitable Pardew is for a manager …

The basics of any side is to get the defence piece right as that way you can still scrape a draw and a point at the very least.

He’ll be gone by the end of November!

I'm sure what you are saying may well be correct, the press always make it sound much worse than sometimes it is. However the trend for the last 11 or months is there for all to see and must be of concern as clearly the current game plans are not working. Whilst football is in the entertainment industry it is also a results driven industry where winning generates your position in the revenue stakes.

Not sure if its just me, But I go to see my team win, I really am not there to see pretty football (that would be a bonus if we were winning) I want them to win 1-0 5-0 I don't care in what manner, But I don't go week in week out to see the poor performances of what was a very solid team in early/mid 2015. Surely its obviously that something is very wrong with things, You can actually see that with some of the interviews of the players

Like many others on a Saturday it takes all my day going through team selections all the permutation, This season it seems that even the players don't really know where they should be or what they should be doing. And that fault must be with a highly paid smug, conceited manager
