"CRYSTAL PALACE are trying to pull off an ambitious January swoop for Marseille wonderkid Maxime Lopez.

Billed as the next Samir Nasri in France, the 18-year-old is regarded as one of the brightest prospects in the country.

Lopez has only just broken into the Marseille first team under new boss Rudi Garcia, who sees him as a key part of the club's future.

But Palace believe a loan move is possible to guarantee Lopez first-team football as he continues his development.

Arsenal are also monitoring Lopez and came close to signing him two years ago, while Liverpool have also had him watched.

But it's Palace who have shown the most interest in bringing him to the Premier League.

Lopez, who can play as a No 10 or in midfield, only made his senior debut in August, but has impressed in flashes ever since.

You don't see the need to strengthen the No. 10 area???? We have ONE player who can play there!

Personally think we need to stop shipping goals in first.

Think we need a new first choice LB and possibly a new CB as well. Couldn't careless about no 10. If we can't consistently put a back line together who can defend 90 minutes to grind out a clean sheet.

Id be spending the war chest on the defence, we have goals in us but look so so frail at the back.

I'd say even that's debateable.

We currently have:

Puncheon - never plays well as a ten, all his best games and his best work tends to come playing a bit deeper and pulling the strings. He's not one to play 10 yards off Benteke

McArthur - runs hard, gets in the area and does a decent job, but we then miss his influence holding

Lee/Mutch/Townsend/Sako - Not really viable options at this stage?

A no.10 and two full backs are what this team is crying out for.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.
