Not been in the main stand for years as I normally go to the Arthur but got 2 tickets together for the Liverpool game so took my nephew with me

We got front row seats which normally I would not get but getting 2 tickets together I snatched them up.
Front row seats are awfull as they are so uncomfortable as they dont fold right down and leave you at a upward angle

People from the Holmesdale and Arthur often moan about how the main stand dont join in with the singing.
This is not the case in my opinion as nearly all around me were singing
Well all except the scouser who was sitting on my left.
Spoke to him and he was no problem. clapped the the 4 liverpool goals and also our 2.
Made a good change to see the Arthur and the Holmesdale in full voice with glad all over and I can tell you the Main stand was with you in noise aswell.

Bogs in the main stand came as a bit of a shock as being used to the Arthur's 3rd rate facilities these are clean and do not have massive queues waiting to get in there.

The bar was great at half time and got served a pint in a glass rather than a luke warm bottle.

I used to have the impression that the main stand was full of old gits with their flasks but I can vouch for the fact that this is not the case

Would I go back to the main stand rather than the Arthur ?????????

Yep probably would now as the Arthur is so outdated.

Dont get me wrong as love the Arthur but facilities in the main stand are so much better

Lmao - My stepdad had season ticket in the mainstand for going on 50yrs, towards the end of his time going to Palace, he literally had both, a flask and a tartan blanket....

Did you have to head to the bar 10 mins before half time to get served or did you miss the first 5 mins of the second half?

what were the queues like at the bar?

What is it like accessibility wise on entering the stand from the street level and then once inside taking your seats. My mum has wanted to come to a game for ages but her mobility is very poor. (But not so bad she would be in the wheelchair section) and she couldn't do the stairs up to holmesdale lower or down again once inside the Arthur would only be ok if she sat right in the back row on the aisle seat and then it gets very congested inside. Wondering if the main stand might be an option

I had a ST in the Main Stand, Stanley Stephenson Lounge, for a couple of seasons, abiding memory is the narky old sod behind me banging his walking stick on the ground constantly moaning, telling me to stop shouting because "they can't hear you" and Mr Sneezey in front of me who sneezed with his whole body, incessantly, nearly dislocating my knees with his convulsions!!
Now I'm knee deep in pee in the AW toilets, and I still prefer it now

All I can say is that the Stanley has steep steps to the Lounge and more to the seats, a constant stream of elderly being helped up and down. Maybe the Players or Glaziers would be better, only you're quite close to the pitch.

That''s exactly what I have to do when in the main. Those bar staff down there in the main bar are ridiculously f*cking slow.

Had season ticket in the players lounge with my brother in the mid 90's for about 6 years and thoroughly enjoyed it. These were the days when players actually drank after games in the bar with the fans (John Salako was a regular both before and after games there as he was always injured and John Humphries always seemed to be around to talk to the fans after a games), but the old boys in our row always complained about us either going to or from the bar or having to go to the toilet due to alcohol consumption. "same very week"... "same every week" they used to moan. So we went back to the Holmesdale and the warm lager etc

In fact a lot quicker than what i was used to in the Arthur
Got back to my seat a little bit late as I was enjoying a cold beer in a glass
Made a nice change
