What do fans think of the idea of playing Benteke AND Wickham up front? 4-4-2 combo?

We would have to score 5 to win the game. They would tear us apart with their fluid movement. We need as many bodies in the middle of the park as possible

Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |

Bit too risky in my mind. They do concede goals but are probably seen as more potent going forward. I think we can stifle them if we play as set up previously this season. Benteke will score against them as he will be so up for this one - ideally with a 94th minute penalty with the score at 2-2. Dann should also be back and he will also score for us from two set pieces. That should be enough.

I would give it a go with Benteke moving out wide to expose Clynes weakness in the air it also gives them a big problems at set pieces with so many good headers of the ball. Mandanda

Great team on paper ... but we don't live life on paper and we would get hammered if that formation/line up was used!

Two big centre forwards together? So much for playing more possession football. Smacks of balls out to the wing and crosses - just like we've been playing for yonks. If we still had Gayle then yes but not two of the same.

We could have done with 2 up front vs West Ham, unfortunately Wickham isn't the player you want playing the second striker. I think we'd have more luck with Lee playing off Benteke. Pity that Christian's brother got injured he could have been an option.

Well, left back Kelly doesn't work and we will still need an extra man to defend because of their movement so 4-4-2 won't work. How about - Mandanda -----Tomkins Delaney Kelly Zaha----------------------Townsend ---------McCarther...Cabaye...Puncheon ----------Benteke----Wickham Zaha and Townsend play as wing backs and HAVE to always cover when Liverpool are in possession. This nullifies our best attackers. The ideal partner for Benteke in that case would be Gayle but some bright spark decided we don't need a pacey, in-behind type striker so we'd be left with hoping Benteke or Wickham have the movement and speed to get in behind for Cabaye to feed. If it was me I'd be tempted to put Lee on the right wing as full back and partner Benteke with Zaha if we're going 2 up front but Pardew definitely won't do this. In fact Pardew won't do anything different and the formation will be 4-2-3-1 like always and we'll get destroyed. This post is pointless. Carry on as you were. What kind of damage can Wilf do up against James Milner at left back?

Liverpool are probably the best attacking outfit in the prem at the moment. 1 up top, sit deep & counter. Only way we're going to win this one I think.
