I thought Wet Spam bullied us in the first 30 minutes of yesterdays game and unfortunately scored a goal. And puncheon was probably our best player especially in the second half. Overall we should of probably pinched at least a point, But yet again for all the effort (which you cant fault) its another home game without a win. Since this time last October 2015 (12 Months) we have won only 5 home games, that's 12 months and 19 games. If that's ringing alarm bells for me, I can not understand how AP seems to play that fact down, This is not a dig at anyone just a genuine concern, And before any one asks yes i do attend all home games and away when we can, I wondered how others felt about that home form situation,

Think AP's new tactics are designed to address our poor home results. So no I don't think AP is playing the fact down. Players still not fully adjusted hence first half where we went back to the long diagonal ball.

I actually think there are signs it is improving. The first home game of the season against West Brom was unfortunately a bit of a write off, as we had about five of our first choice missing through a combination of injuries and players coming back late training from the Euros, plus we had not signed Benteke at that stage. Then the Bournemouth result was a draw, which after a slow start, we absolutely battered them second half, and this remember is a good Bournemouth team as was shown by their 6-1 win over Hull yesterday. The next home game we beat Stoke 4-1, and then yesterday probably should have at least got a draw with our second half performance. No i think it is not as bad as it seems this season, the stats can be slightly misleading. Some people are simply over reacting to our first defeat in six games. We played poorly in atrocious weather conditions and missed a penalty. It can happen

You know we only get 19 home games we have already played 4 (20%) how many games do you think these highly skilled & paid players will take to adjust?

Understand change of tactics a bit more extreme but it took Klopp 6 months to get Liverpool playing a different way and they still revert to type on occasion. Also our previous style dates back to Pulis and was designed to be the best system for the players we had. I see it as a gamble by AP given that only four new players in the first team, but he had to do something given our dreadful run or results last year.

For me, the issue is that last year, teams came to defend and we found it hard to break down hence why we didn't get results. We've gone to change our style and it's in a bit of a transition. For me, the bigger complaint is that yet again, we have to make a half time sub. People will give him credit for making changes to improve the performance but there really shouldn't be that much need if he just got it right in the first place. No other managers have to do this as regularly as we do. I just think that not getting the setup right from the start is what's costing us. We've conceded the first goal in the last how many games now and we aren't always going to be able to turn it around every time. At home we're less likely to turn it around as teams are more likely to sit in and defend what they've got.

Our home form has been poor since AP has been here . You can dress up all you like but until we start keeping clean sheets it won't get any better . We let three defenders go pre season and only got one in . Sort out our defence and results will improve .

That's agreed, we really missed Dann and Souare, bit difficult when half your defence is out. Parrot

Yes we looked weak at the back especially down each flank. until Wilf woke up and tracked Cresswell back we couldn't really cope. We were at home and should start a match like that not let the opposition do it to us. Also it's not only clean sheets we need to address. What about shots on target. Originally posted by Palace4861
